What a shite, but fitting, finale.

Over the whole season Queens just weren't good enough.

Worst run of the season with WG/GM in charge losing 6 games before the Inverness match.

AJ/SC and the BOD should be taking the brunt of this obviously.

In the BoD defence, they gave AJ a very good budget apparently. I put most of the blame on that charlatan more than anyone else.

Must be having a laugh about the BoD! Been on a shoestring budget for a fair few seasons now. Half Million in the black and not opening their wallets to form a decent squad....

Our squad has been as big this season than it has in years. The budget wasn't the issue, the recruitment and who was doing it was.

Budget was definitely the issue. When Johnson took the gig on he was surprised how low it was (apparently).

There's a reason why it's full of essentially young players. The wages are crap / can't attract the quality.

Did someone not post that Johnston didn't even spend all his "meagre" budget? If that's true he couldn't have been to upset at how low it was or he would have used it all up.

Do you think our budget is miles behind Arbroath? Budget is a pish excuse. Arbroath almost won the division and Livingston went up with a tiny budget as well. The biggest issue was AJ. An absolute charlatan of a manager at this level.

Budget not a piss excuse.

Our budget was the lowest in the Championship even part time Arbroath had a bigger budget .

Killie had the biggest budget won the League we had the lowest finished bottom.

Budget and wages are two different things.

Youve only to look at the squads past and present the last few seasons. He clearly couldn't attract the calibre of player for a reason.

Eg: You don't sign the likes of Michael Paton released from a club a division below if your wages are decent.

Can assure you budget wasn't an issue he thought it was low because he thinks he's better than he is. Aj was the problem a certain striker would've returned if he wasn't there. Bod at fault for not getting rid of him in January. Certain people here were over the moon when AJ returned now they all slagging him they were warned

You'll be waiting a while.

Seriously our budget on average for a 26 man squad was £400 a week some of our first team regulars are £300 a week. Seriously that is why we are bottom not willing to pay for experience. Broadfoot on £850 a week at ICT but we were not willing to pay that. Our board have a lot to answer for. How AJ did not spend his budget is laughable.

If AJ never used all the budget then how the hell can we criticise the board for not giving him a decent budget? I suspect the reason he couldn't attract players may well be down to him as a manager. Can I just remind you he would have had an excellent budget with Dunfermline at this level and was almost as equally pish with them. He hasn't a clue at this level of Scottish football and won't be at it for a good while if ever again. With or without a good budget he is wildly out of depth and is without question the biggest reason we'll be playing in League 1 next season.

If you have x for wages spread it thin on 26average  players or get q better quality 18/20 hopefully do something before injuries etc then play kids and hope they do ok till players are back. Aj baffled himself with quantity because quality won't play for him. Give WG the job tonight he has respect he will attract quality

I'm not having this budget being the problem talk.  You just have to look down south at clubs like Brentford, Burnley or Accrington, or as has been said Arbroath in Scotland to see what can be done on relative shoestring budgets.

The board said they would back AJ with funds in January to add to an already large squad, he said he wanted to bring in 4-5 players and all he managed to get was 1 regular starter who blows hot and cold, 2 bit part players, and the return of Innes Carthorse who's goalscoring record to January was poor to say the least.  AJ would have been aware that 2 of the 4 would be unavailable against their parent clubs.

The board made a huge blunder in giving AJ a new contract last summer, and a 2 year one at that.  AJ was already at the club and knew what the budget would be, he could have turned down the contract offer and walked away if he wasn't satisfied with the board's spending plans.

So for me the story of the season has, to go all mathematical on you, been  "BOD + AJ = clusterfuck".

I'm not saying he criticised it, just commented how low it was after he originally signed.

I don't believe for one second he chose not to spend his budget. It was either a case of he himself wasn't appealing as you say or the wages didn't attract. Given players tend to go where the money is I'm more inclined to go with the latter.
