The years of discontent, 2022/23

The important thing to do in the face of a cost of living crisis, being exacerbated by an open kleptocracy and their complicit media gaslighting the population into believing there's just nothing they can do, is to ensure you come across as the adult in the room on a football forum.

And what part of that suggests I wanted no pay-rises at all?
The Scottish Government have offered a good pay-rise (over 11% for those at the bottom?) which they can afford. That seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Anyway, there's a ridiculous level of anger building up on the thread which isn't conducive to a good discussion so I'll leave it there for the moment.

That has absolutely nothing to do with my initial response to you.

I've been wondering about the human filth that stores its wealth in offshore tax havens, avoids tax, and lives off its web of offshore trusts etc at times like these.

Do you ever think that these people hoarding (that's what it is) wealth away from everyone else ever feel even the slightest pang of 'am I the bad guy?' when they see that we've got to the point where you can no longer reliably catch a train, people's lives are at risk due to pressure on public health services, and we can't say for sure whether kids will get their exams marked this year? Similar with big corporation avoiding tax.

There's absolutely no shortage of money. We just do nothing as a society to make sure we use it fairly.

It's a sign of who controls the messaging in society that some absolute choobs can still manage to straight-face the 'Where does the money come from, then?' line in relation to paying normal people a sum of money that avoids their standard of life plummeting. That's the wrong question, the right question is 'Who's stolen all our money?'.

Do they f**k. That's why these c***s vote Tory because those c***s do a great job of brainwashing the public into thinking it's immigrants/the poor/workers et al's fault that we are in this shitshow. And sadly the gullible believe it.

Just read the last few pages. Jesus Christ.
The Tories have fair done a brilliant job of convincing everyone that it's all the fault of your mate / neighbour striking to get a pay rise to actually pay their bills rather than their rampant financial incompentence.

Yep. Think a few posters in here need to watch this and take a good look at themselves.

I think, on the whole, it’s simply an outgrowth of the societal shift to valuing capital over labor. While it isn’t as profitable to the capital investor to run a business with labor receiving a fair portion of profit, it is effective in increasing the consumption numbers overall. Henry Ford was a nasty, anti-labor b*****d, but he clearly understood that paying his workers more of the money that would be profit otherwise increased the market for his product. In much the same way but in reverse, these hoarding, bottom line chasing b*****ds are holding down economic growth, and cutting off their own noses to spite their faces.

Until passive money uses are more fairly taxed to encourage a more reasonable balance of re-investment and income uses of these funds, we’ll have this problem. Additionally, with the interconnected financial world of today, there is the bugaboo of the tax haven to be fought.

The unfortunate reality is it is unlikely this matter will be fixed without a literal revolution when this capitalist focused world implodes from income disparity. That was narrowly avoided in the U.S. in the 1890-1940 range due to actual Government actions, unfortunately, true actions of this sort seem increasingly unlikely worldwide.

That seems to be a sign-off he's picked up since retirement. "Well, I've flawlessly proven my point without anything I've said being refuted at all, so I'm off to check the thermostat/NSFW scud threads to make sure I'm still not attracted to Britney Spears or Liz Hurley".

Seems to have dropped the 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thing, so I guess that means he's back to seething again? That emoji was so convincing.

Edit: just catching up on the thread - is the old roaster really claiming that P&B reluctantly forced him to support strikes being banned?  🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm fully expecting you to appear on Mastermind one day.

"Name?" - BFTD.

"Your chosen specialised subject?" - Oaksoft an in-depth study and analysis of his P+B posts, what he really means by them and the true motivations he has for posting them.

North of 20 points and no passes, a half-decent general knowledge round and that's you through.

Frankly, I think any claim that there are "good guys" on this topic was destroyed by the comment on the last page by @Brother Blades who said "if it means some people dying then so be it".

Anyway, I think I'll leave it at that for this discussion for the time being. A bit of repetition is creeping into the thread.

I think you know that my comments were in reference to the Tory PM at the time saying it was ok to “let the bodies pile high” in order to keep the economy running.
I’ve reflected on my comment & don’t regret it one bit, I’ve thought about the damage that has been caused in the last 12 years (and beyond), any deaths caused by striking workers cannot & should not be attributed to those workers, it’s directly as a result of lower than inflation pay rises, increased workload, increased stress, increased cost of living, lower morale, hypocrisy from the government. The blame for the current feeling within healthcare staff lies entirely with this government & previous governance. It’s the first time EVER that nurses have voted to go on strike, they must have a reason? They spend their lives, preserving life. As I stated in another post, let’s see what they are offered if the bodies start piling high?

A general P&B Mastermind round would be tremendous.

Q1. At which address was a poster invited for a fight and told to bring his maw?

(an easy one to start with)

12 Ruel Street, Mount Florida.

And 'Mintermind', shirley?

ETA - in case of any controversy, https://cartographic.info/has it as Mount Florida. A quick google reveals the estate agents have it as both Cathcart and Battlefield, but one of those estate agents wanted to have our place listed as Muirend and you could have physically spat into Cathcart station from it with a tailwind.
