First Divison 22/23

Recommended Posts

Current leaders Drumchapel United have still to play home and away against 2nd placed Kilbirnie, 3rd placed Gartcairn and 4th placed St Cadoc's.

Points will obviously be dropped there, so that will give an opportunity for the likes of Johnstone Burgh, Benburb and Rutherglen Glencairn to take advantage if they can go on a consistent run over the second half of the league season.

just shows not always the team who spend most money win the league willing to bet right now STCASH don't get promoted

Would you describe Drumchapel and Gartcairn as financial underdogs?! 😂

Why is the bottom 4 teams in red? Is it 3 or 4 that go down?

Three go down, however if the WoSFL champions lose the promotion play-off and a team is relegated from the Lowland League into the WoSFL (very unlikely) then a 4th team requires to be relegated from each league to keep the numbers at 16 per league.

Similarly, if the WoSFL champions win the promotion play-off and no team is relegated into the WoSFL from the Lowland League, then the 3rd bottom team in each league is spared from relegation (this season). There is a proposal on the table for the AGM to change that rule from next season, where the 4th placed teams in each league would be promoted instead instead of the 3rd bottom teams being spared from relegation.
