Lest we forget last season started on July 17th last season. Going Sat-Wed-Sat-Wed-Sat-Wed-Sat-Wed-Sat-Wed with the next Saturday (21/8) being a mix of Premier/SJC/Strathclyde.

Not all of those 8 games were in the traditional calendar scheduling.

Started with leagues games in July 2021 and ended with a WoS cup final 11 months later.

Not sure if they have a firm plan for a +2 gain.

Last season it seemed they were unaware of the possibility so hopefully they are now going to take it into account (unlikely as it is), maybe just copy the EoS and expand to 18?

Regarding scheduling - all EOS and 9/19 LL clubs also take part in the EOS qualifying cup (74 total), with a Saturday set aside for the last 64 games and the EOS clubs cope. Though of course it seems like there's fewer postponements in the east, and more floodlights, plus the Junior Cup is much hard to rescheduled with cross-region matches.

I make it 40 Saturdays (ex. xmas + NY) to fit in 30 league games, at least 1 SCC, 1 WOS Cup, 1 Scottish or Strathclyde Cup, and 1 Junior Cup. Compared with 42 Saturdays last season and 8 more league games for Premier clubs.

The demise of darvel when and not if it comes is going to be glorious  .

We need them for entertainment value. The re-joining of the SJFA to play more games because they are out of the association trophy for refusing to play games is comedy gold.

Even funnier when you remember who sponsors said association trophy.

The club must have a constitution where it calls for an AGM.

I too thought this. Not sure how the league lets this situation happen with a member club. Seems like the owner has things to hide.

As a licenced club, you must submit your annual accounts to the SFA along with evidence that this has been passed by members/shareholders at AGM.  These accounts are then looked at by the SFA.

Clubs which are private companies don't have members meetings as they have shareholders meetings instead. If Darvel isn't a members club that may explain no meeting of the members. Is Darvel run as a Limited Company?

Clubs run as Limited Companies can always have meetings of Supporters though.

Oh dear!

Is Drivel in breach of its SFA licence?

What a shame that would be!

Not if they are a limited company.

A limited company must have an AGM, open to all shareholders.

If the only shareholders are the pie man and his wife, they can hold the AGM in their kitchen.

It’s not a necessity anymore, unless they have included it in their own constitution, which I would doubt they have.

The only utter tripe that's being peddled at the moment is the refusal of the LL to open up the pro/rel bottleneck and the selfish self-serving attempt of clubs like Civil Service Strollers to link that issue to what happens with the Club 42 playoff. There's a massive imbalance between the HL and LL catchments in population terms so having two central belt tier 5 feeders wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing even if the SJFA's proposal is clearly not going to be the way that it comes about.

All fine and well saying that, but (again) the SPFL's bottom line is two feeder  leagues... and if not two, then one!
