So, just to clarify - if Hearts B continue with their current form and finish bottom of the table, they don't get relegated, but the team above them does?

Assuming of course there is a net gain of one (or two) clubs from the SPFL at the end of the season.

The (Un)official Podcast reached out to the Lowland League for comment on the Pyramid Review over the weekend. Looks like another year of going round in circles.

To be fair I think it’s the SFA who need to make comment, I’m not sure the league can say much more.

Works the same way as the other end of the table. B teams are disregarded when determing who is bottom and second bottom for the purposes of relegation.

Anyone who still thinks that "pyramid review" is serious and not just a false "promise" to get these useless B-teams back, is fooling themselves...

The fact none of the B teams can be champions is , I suggest,  a separate matter.

The team that finishes top are champions, that's actually the fact. That they are not into the playoffs is another matter. Any team finishing second to a B team and calling themselves champions would have the brassest of brass necks.

It's basically the equivaluent of the SPFL saying that every club's finishing position decreases by one at the end of the seasons. So club 1 becomes club 0, club 42 becomes club 41 and so no club has to be put forward for the pyramid play-off.

The thought strikes me that while the young Hibees are getting experience playing in a European competition against Malmö and Nantes the young Hearts, Rangers and Celtic players are getting experience playing against Gretna and Cumbernauld Colts...

Not quite. Rangers and Celtic have also played in the UEFA Youth Leage this season, in the youth version of their CL groups. Hibs as the u18 league winners entered a domestic champions pathway for those where the senior team didn't make the CL group stage.

At the minute all 3 will play 6 games against European competition. Difference then is Lowland v. Reserve League/B team friendlies.

This is the lowland League table taken from Wiki just now. Clearly shows that the 2nd place team will qualify for the Pyramid play off if a B team is top at the end of the season
