I suspect that wound be ruled out on the cost of the hire for the stadium, Berwick are probably charging very little, if anything.

The SYFA just hired it two weekends in a row for their Finals......and I'm sure the B teams bribes would easily cover it, plus £10 a head entry.

Berwick wow... I assume they wanted to use a LL ground for the final.

Spartans? Tranent? CSS?

Nah lets send both clubs on 160 mile round trip

Apparently was picked at the start (Could've announced it then) which makes it even more bizarre.Obviously never thought Berwick would get to the final then.

Berwick will be a fine host, just bonkers having finalists from where they are travelling down there.

Even toss a coin for home advantage would probably get a bigger crowd.

Having no knowledge or even who they might be. These blazers in charge of our Tier 5 setup do appear to be, dare I say it, amateurish in how they operate the league, the cups. The response, particularly from fans 're this League Cup is very apathetic at best.

Their media output across any platform is extremely weak.

It's the same with the SCC.

Look at how the Junior Cup has been advertised and sold over the years.

There is no sense of occasion exuded in anything they are involved with.

Considering the carbon footprint this final is creating....I expect a pitch invasion from the Extinction Rebellion folks.

If you think traveling is bad in the LL have a look at a map of next season’s National North,

I watched my local women's team Dryburgh Athletic in a league cup semi final at Airdrie earlier this season with 200ish in attendance. If they can afford playing that one in Airdrie, the LL Cup final shouldn't be an issue you'd think.

It's not as mad as it looks down there if you turn the south league on it's side. Not having to play loads of London teams or travelling round the place makes a big difference too

Conference South

Lowestoft to Truro - 399 miles

Lowestoft to Weymouth - 273 miles

Conference North

Gloucester to Newcastle - 261 miles

Newcastle to Bishop Stortford - 258 miles

While we have this...

Highland League

Wick to Tayport - 241 miles (sh!te roads!)

Lowland League

Stranraer to Luncarty - 150 miles

Campbeltown to St Andrews - 195 miles

EDIT - Berwick is a nightmare to get to from anywhere though!

Campbeltown to Tweedmouth is 240 miles according to Google Maps.

Aye it only works in England as it’s a better road net work.

Dover to Thruro. Is the longest journey of them all.

Wouldn’t say Berwick is a nightmare to get to apart from the Edinburgh city bypass,

For supporters 45 minutes on the train from Waverley.

Not from Eyemouth or Dunbar it ain't.

So the cup final should have been a reinstated Eyemouth v Dunbar in a battle of the Uniteds!

Eventually a decade later, the LL is taking shape with the likes of Albion Rovers, Berwick Rangers, Cowdenbeath and East Stirlingshire being joined with Tranent, Bo'ness Utd and Linlithgow Rose.

Just need to launch a few of those Boys Clubs and it will be suitable for use.

Especially with the B teams moving upwards into the Conference.

Certainly moving further west, now only 5 (proper) clubs in Edinburgh/East Lothian/Midlothian/Borders compared to 9 in the first season of 16 teams.

What have I told you about having a go at my Boys Clubs.

Although batter on dumping on the C-Colts naebody in Scumbie likes them.

Always acted like they were it, in Scumbie.

Interesting to note that all four winners of the East Superleague in the Lowland area (i.e. except Lochee and Tayport) have now won the EOS and been promoted to the LL.
