Sarto Mutiny
This should be a really exciting league, and yet having a reserve team at the top sullies it somehow. Great result for Tranent today. Even the obligatory red card for them and the equally obligatory last minute penalty for Rangers couldn't prevent them from winning a point.

Clearly shows that the 2nd place team will qualify for the Pyramid play off if a B team is top at the end of the season You clearly miss my point. Top of the league are the champions. That's what champions means. The second placed side may well go into the play offs if a colts side are champions. But the second placed team aren't "champions". Moving swiftly on....

Normally yes but B teams are not eligible to be champions therefore the top non-B team will be champions going by the LL rules. "H3 Except as provided below regarding the final position of Guest Clubs, the club in top position will be declared Champion. The position of Guest Clubs will be disregarded when deciding final league positions. Specifically, a Guest Club shall not be the Champion Club."

CambieBud
That makes some reading. One point separating 5 teams at the top! Impressive

Dosn’t mean that no will contest it. The clout the Glasgow 2 have with the media would probably see some sort of campaign to get into the play off if they won the league.
parsforlife
Rangers B winning the league would absolutely be taken up by the daily record talking about injustices etc that they can't get promoted. Club 42 may well have a rant as well but it will be forgotten about in the same way brechin's moaning was. In the overall picture not too much will change, the majority of the spfl will continue to act with integrity and tell B teams to f**k off and the majority of the LL will continue to act with no integrity and keep them part of their sham league.
Deanburn Dave
Any legal challenge would fail. It is that simple. But if any club wants to waste their money on a futile venture there will no doubt be lawyers prepared to take their money. However, what we've often seen in Scottish football is that when something happens once that goes against the grain. Rule changes are brought in to prevent it from happening again.

Challenge a decision that was in part taken by the SPFL without discussion or a vote of its 42 members ?
james666
Not too sure about this but at the end of the season, IF the colts are not invited back, and there is a promotion from the ll, would there be two teams promoted from the playoffs? Assuming c42 went north. Edited November 16, 2022 by james666
craigkillie
The Lowland League rules don't allow for extra promotion, there would just be one less club relegated (ie none).
Hoofhearted
Just noticed that Ali Adams has signed for Bo'ness. That means that Bo'ness now have 2 players who have played for 5 different Lowland League teams. Ali has played for Bo'ness, Spartans, Gretna, Berwick and Bonnyrigg. The other player is Jack Smith who has played for EK, BSC, Spartans, Caley Braves and Bo'ness. Pub Quiz- Can anyone beat that? PS I do the quizzes in the programme so I am a bit of a statto anyway.

It depends if you mean played for clubs now or formerly in the LL or played in the LL with different clubs. Craig Sinclair played for Cowdenbeath, Edinburgh City, Gala Fairydean and Berwick Rangers but that was long before the LL was invented.
