Fucking hell, it really is panic stations for East Stirlingshire. A dismal Cowdenbeath side scudding them 5-0 is dreadful stuff.

You appear to be a well informed neutral, supporter. How many Cowdenbeath or East Stirlingshire games have you attended this season ?

None lol, I just keep up regularly, and anyone claiming East Stirling aren't looking in danger after that result and the ones preceding it is kidding themselves tbh.

Anyone here know why tomorrow's Rangers B vs OGB game is postponed?

I was going to guess internationals, but that's over and its back to European club football. So probably a bunch of the squad is off for the UEFA Youth League and everyone involved OGB/LL is cool with them moving the game.

Clearly having difficulty in grasping the concept of multiple outcomes from multiple situations.  In an ideal world we would have a simple,  clear and consistent approach to relegation and promotion across the Pyramid.

Until or if ever we have that, we are where we are

You will never have that so long as there are regional leagues.

Even if you had two automatic relegation places from SPFL2, there wouldn't necessarily be one to the HL and one to the LL. And so on down the pyramid.

Agree the current Tier 5 regional set up , possible non existent relegation from Tier 4 and limited Tier 6 promotion into Tier 5 makes a simple solution very difficult. Breaking this down ;

Probably not  economically feasible to have National Leagues below Tier 4, at least without infusing some SPFL funds,  as goes to Tier 4 .Unlikely to say the least.

Accept promotion into Lowland could  be increased,  but 1  ( so long as a licensed West/ East/ South Champion Club qualify,  likely to be the case from now on) automatic.  Case could be made to increase that to 2, if circumstances are that bottom Club is saved relegation.  The rules around that would take a bit of crafting. Next step could be increase to 2 automatic.  Hard sell with current arrangements at top ie win league/ win play off with Highland Champion/ win play off with Team 42 ( always with home advantage in second game). Complete and total farce , embarrassment to Scottish Football.

Contrast the Highland arrangements,  mimicking League 2 , with bottom Club getting a play off. Never ever should play offs be to stay up, only to go up.

The real solution is a fundamental review of the entire Pyramid.  That will allow a joined up, intelligent,  workable,  fair and progressive structure to emerge. I live in hope.

Fair enough,  they do sustain interest and some excitement.  Still think same could be achieved without second chance playoffs  .  For example two down from SPFL, one  automatic up from Championship + winner of play off.

Also the relative small size of our Leagues is another issue that should  be revisited

What a lot of words to say a lot of garbage.

The play offs work really well in the SPFL. The 4 leagues are small so there’s the repetition issue of playing each other 4 times a season. The play offs mean almost everyone at both ends has something to play for until the end so it’s very successful in maintaining interest.
Don’t waste your breath talking about making the leagues bigger, as Sky Tv and the bigots control that scenario.
Changing the pyramid from LL / HL and downwards is an issue for the non leagues to sort. Wouldn’t hold much hope of that, the LL can’t even run it’s own division well.

Ok fine , be happy with your reward failure ethos.  Most other Leagues and  sports have grasped the concept of encouraging upward momentum,  not stasis

Looks like Celtic and Rangers both falling behind on fixtures already and seemingly no effort by Lowland League to regulate them.

The shitshow most thought it would be ?

This was the compromise the LL voted for. Instead of weakened sides due to Internationals and seemingly UEFA Youth League games. The OF get to sit out.
