Home game v Ukraine on a Saturday followed by a trip to Peru on the Tuesday?It came out in the news a year or so ago around the peak of the UEFA & FIFA bitching. FIFA were pushing for an expanded Club World Cup, more frequent World Cups and also a World Nations League. UEFA weren't willing to risk losing income in the UCL, Euro's & NL, and also didn't want the football calendar affected with more frequent World Cups.To take control of the situation, and get back at FIFA, UEFA pushed for closer ties with CONMEBOL including the introduction of the Finalissima match and a discussion of a joint UEFA/CONMEBOL nations league.It'll only take place in Europe if it gets the go ahead. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
