Think the ball across is a German player, so not offside as it’s presumably a deliberate attempt to play the ball or whatever. Then there’s contact on Kane’s back leg just before he kicks himself. Soft as f**k, and he throws himself to the ground, but I think it’s a penalty.

For those claiming offside, if a player in an offside position is fouled before they play the ball (even if they're already moving towards the ball) the foul is given as the "first" offence.

It's seems a bit daft but it is correct.

The offside may be subjective, but Kane's left boot made contact with the defender's leg before he threw himself to the ground.

That cant be right, surely? He cant score a legitimate goal so surely the goal should be flagged offside?

Even if he got punched or something id say it would be offside but a red card for the defender.

Is there a You Are The Ref that clears this up

Edit: if this is the rule then i want years worth of disallowed goals on PES back, offsides were always first even if you got cleaned out, ha

That's ludicrous btw. The first offence should be if the player in an offside position makes a deliberate movement to get involved with the play because it clearly has to happen first.

But he was offside when the first ball was played by the England boy. He failed to get back onside before the second ball was played. I'm honestly sitting here gobsmacked they've missed it. That's before we talk about the fucking dive emoji38.png

That's not the rule though

Quote

A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball, including by deliberate handball, is not considered to have gained an advantage, unless it was a deliberate save by any opponent.
