Who will take over at the managerial helm now that Hartley has left for Hartlepool..

Crucial appointment to keep the continued success going. Needs to be made promptly to give the new gaffer time to bring in much needed strength ahead of the forthcoming season.

My hunch is someone local this time around.

Get Dick Campbell aff that or I’m no voting x

You'd think he'd be fairly content at Arbroath and also he's told the world ,numerous times, he's got 3 successful businesses with his brother so isn't money driven.

If he sees it as a new challenge you never know.

Hilarious if Jack Ross is appointed. Barry Robson probably a likely candidate though. Will Cove make an appointment before Dundee do? Probably!

That's the Cove fucked then. Oh dear.

Clearly played a big part in our success but on the other hand all our good signings were local lads that basically defaulted to coming to us due to location, what we could give them financially. This season coming was going to be the acid test on how good his recruitment really was.

A loss yes, difficult to replace yes but not impossible. Optimistically looking forward to a new era

Petrie is an interesting shout here. Has done a really good job at Montrose and if he wanted could have gone full time by now. Here's another part time job within manageable distance but a higher level and considerably bigger budget. Be a decent time to move too as kicking Montrose on another level in League 1 next season looks like a tough gig. Think Cove could do a lot worse.

He’s got one of the most secure jobs in the country with Montrose though, whereas Cove would be much bigger risk. I believe they’re also planning to go hybrid and then full time in the near future, which would be problematic for him.

Last season will be Campbell’s high point with Arbroath. Cove would be a good challenge.

In what way? He has the exact same challenge at Arbroath this season

It would be absolutely incredible for him to walk out of the club after becoming a legend here (which would be ruined in an instant) and getting all of his people into the club over the past 6 seasons, coaches, players and staff. Building the club up to the level it is now with the relationship he’s got with our board, a solid steady squad of guys that doesn’t need too much more to be really competitive again. He’ll have all his plans in place for ourselves this season already

I would be amazed if he was even slightly interested, really do not think outsiders understand how close DC and the players are. And how much work himself and the board have done together to get to this stage, walking away from a 6 year project at this stage with what he’s built here and the name he’s made himself here would be wild

If it was a completely different challenge, say a Premiership team or Dunfermline or something understandable. But the only difference in the challenge he’d have at Cove is a longer commute and having to rebuild a club in his own way again

The guy is 68 years old

Jack Ross knocks back Dundee 17 times but decided Cove is the place to get his career back on track.
