The Big Queen's Park FC Thread

Dundee FC is very pleased to announce that, following representations made by the Club, the SPFL Board has determined that Queen’s Park FC is required to at least double our original ticket allocation for next Friday’s fixture at Ochilview to a minimum of 1,000. Whilst this is still considerably less than the expected level of demand, the Club would like to sincerely thank both the SPFL Board and Police Scotland for their prompt and careful consideration of our arguments in the interests of public safety and on behalf of our loyal supporters.

Once tickets are received, the timing of sale arrangements will be announced.

Everyone associated with the Club thanks our supporters for their fantastic backing this season and we encourage supporters who have not already done so to purchase a ticket for our match against Cove Rangers at the Kilmac Stadium tomorrow evening.

I don’t think that’s an accurate comparison. Increasing the away capacity at Rugby Park and Fir Park would involve moving home fans from their season ticket seats. This isn’t the case at QP where they seem to be just limiting the away section. The only time I can think of this happening was in the Motherwell vs Rangers playoff.

Yet I don’t think many other fans in Scottish football criticised Motherwell for doing so?

It was a huge game, and Motherwell did what they could to minimise any advantage for the away team.
Completely understandable.

I don’t see how Queens were attempting anything different in a potentially huge one-off game.

That pretty much eliminates the possibility for Dundee to be at the east end of the park and on safety/police grounds segregation in the west stand is unlikely. That just leaves us with the main stand, roughly 40% of the capacity. For us to expand we’ll need to use the east end in some way. For us to pull in over a thousand against Montrose at Hampden and now be limited to 600 at our home venue is ridiculously distorted.

Still this is the ground we chose for this season. Once again, the failure to deliver new Lesser Hampden is coming back to bite us. And once again, our leadership team has been bullied by the authorities. And once again we now rely on our players and coach to help make it all better.

Bring on the Morton.

It will be even funnier when your money runs out and QP drop like a stone.  Lowland legue should sustainable with a core support of 400.

Talk me through your emotions when Simon Murray fired the ball into the roof of the net at East End Park. In great detail, if possible.

Would any kind ST holder hook me up with a ticket for the home end? I started following QP since the change to professionalism and don't have a ST but have made it along to a decent few home games (and partick away) this year.

Will provide compensation in the form of a pie of your choosing ontop of the price of the ticket.

Was delighted to get rid of Hughes to be honest. Best thing that could happen to us. Coming back much stronger.

Great news for Rangers and Celtic fans that the SPFL now have set themselves a precedent for intervening in ticket allocation issues.

It shouldn't make much of a difference to what happens on the park. We've beaten teams with bigger travelling supports at Fortress Ochilview already. We need to put Morton to the sword on Saturday (or hope Cove are up for it on Friday) so that the last game means something and it's in our own hands.

Mon the Queen's!

Don’t think the Dundee board behaved well. Pointy fingers on Twitter followed by cliping to the Heidy that the big boys stole their crisps. No wonder their club’s a mess.

Queens Park literally slashed the allocation for Dundee purely so there are less away fans at the game knowing full well that the tickets won't be bought by home supporters, Dundee are absolutely within their rights to call out this absolutely cringeworthy tinpot move by QP to try and secure more tickets for their supporters, allowing people who want to attend a match more of an opportunity to do so.

There is only one club who comes across as a complete riddy here and it isn't Dundee.

Scotland must be the only football nation where fans clamour for their team to make sure there are hundreds, if not thousands of empty seats at matches, giving keyboard warriors who still live with their mum a hard on at the prospect of visiting allocations being cut and scores of empty seats and sections all over the ground as a consequence.

Not surprised a Celtic fan is buzzin' about the SPFL's intervention here, your club (and your manky, ugly sister) will definitely be making a note of these events, trying to get half the stadium everywhere you go now.

Looking forward to the SPFL telling Celtic that they have to give Rangers thooosands of tickets for the next OF game at Parkhead and vice versa.

Dundee's stance on this is pretty pathetic. Queens Park are the home club and have every right to give as many or as little tickets to their opposition as they want so long as it meets the SPFL rules. Smacks of Celtic and Rangers style bullying.

Really hope the wider QP fan base isn’t affected by this decision. Looks like it was going to be members and season tix get first dibs, then open up to the rest come Monday. QP with at least the main stand and behind the goals to the right.

Highly dignified bitchin and morning aside,  I kinda suspect Dundee would have got more tickets anyway once that process was complete.

Not sure  how stewarding and segregation could / would work in that covered away end - wonder if that’s had a part to play as much as anything.
