CathcartSkins
I cannot see us moving from Lesser; as for a new North Stand and sure the idea is for that to be larger due than the other sides due to the size of the land available and to accommodate the larger travelling support. Of more interest is the idea that the SFA will not be redeveloping Hampden due to a lack of funds, selling it at some future date and heading off into the sun with their original preference of playing internationals at various grounds around the country.

The SFA certainly couldn’t come up with funds on its own to modernise Hampden. Can certainly think of someone who might be able to contribute heavily, though.

We might just get away with it in this division when the capacity goes to 1,500 but I think that no supporter at this level should be locked out from seeing their team, home or away. Going initially with the one stand (and with the games not even being streamed) means that some weeks some away fans are going to miss out. Maybe even home fans if our local support starts to grow. That's shite imo Surely the club are going to build a new west stand in front of the new Directors stand which would hold at least 1,000 QP fans, which would then give us a capacity of 2,500, then if we get promotion again sometime, there is space at the north side to build a stand holding at least 1,500 giving us 4,000 seats.

Calm down - your pocket money is safe. The rumour I was hearing recently was of investment being sought from overseas. Whether that was for redevelopment as a football stadium, entertainment venue or some other purpose was not confirmed nor denied.

It’s clear to me that after the first fiasco, Big Jock called in the collective Percy and telt them he’d sort their mess out but would be sorting his own bit out while he was at it. The revised design reflects that. There’s no-one on this project taking an overview. The Laird’s Pavillion holds 40 + 4 whereas the original design had 925 bodies in the same space. The introduction of the dressing rooms on the running track limits views. There’s also an issue with row heights in a stand. So there’s little chance of seating in front of the elevated 40-seater. And frankly, even if there was room, it’ll still be reserved space. Now, now Percy! There is still some room along from that toward the north-end of the west stand but nobody is doing anything more than speculating on that. That whole west side is going to end up looking like a brickies barra when it’s finished. The hospitality model that’s worked well is to be repeated with about 100 plates in the social club. While the 40 simply stroll through gliding doors to their seats, the 100 have to go out the club, walk down to the entrance gate and sit in the East stand. And back again at half-time for a free pie. Good day oot, eh? At best we’ll end up with 2300. Plus 40.

CathcartSkins
Looking at our fixtures for our Womens team, Lesser Hampden is listed for a game on 27Nov22; is this test the event? Apologies if this has been raised previously.

Listened to this the other day. Incredible delusion. No harm to Grant, but he must have been the only person on the planet who thought he was a cert for a new deal. He was one of a great number of borderlines who you could have made arguments for and against. He was great in the playoffs, but I’m struggling to recall these Paolo Maldini type performances in the games leading up to them. Really not impressed by players who go away crying in public like this about how hard done by they were. He was well paid and well treated by Queen’s Park. He wasn’t owed a thing.

I was told he was sent to St George's Park, England's Centre of Excellence, for surgery on his knee. Sense of entitlement it seems.
Spider Rico
Yeah as much as I thought he was a good player for us, I don’t think he comes across well at all on that podcast

Disappointing to hear that from Grant. Incredible that he had no incline that he could be possibly be released. He looked incredibly ropey prior to the play offs, and with his awful injury record, that alone is strong consideration to not offer any professional footballer a new contract Sounds very bitter overall. Naturally, you’re going to be disappointed to not be offered a deal, but he comes across poorly here. Still hope he does very well at Clyde in fairness Edited August 23, 2022 by qpfc
foreverarover
Couldn’t see that one flying. Traffic clogging up Pollok Park and building on one of the most green and serene corners of the city would likely bring some of the old Pollok Free Staters out of retirement! That land has been used by the police since the 1930s there is no chance of that being developed by queen's Park.

We're now the main lease holder and use it as our training base for a number of our teams, as well as for women's and reserve team fixtures.

Mr.Blue
Queens Park were very ruthless in the summer when they released the likes of Doyle, Grant, Quitongo and Gillespie. At the moment it seems like the right decision. Having watched quitongo and Gillespie play for us I am curious as to why they were released? They've both started reasonably well at Cappielow.
