Was £15 today but when you break it down, was it that great a deal? £10 admission, £3 for a bottle of beer and £2 for a pie?

I don't actually know how much a pie is but £2 seems reasonable?

Pies were £2 from the shop.

Can only assume there was sickness in the camp ?

Looking at the line up it looks like players from this seasons squad who are going to be there next season with the exception of Sam Newman who will return to Spartans.

Ruddy, Armstrong and Slaven haven't played for ages and are probably away. Both Sam Young and Michael Cunningham will also be back at the Pars and East Fife.

It was the right idea playing boys who are going to be there next season.

We won't be able to due to Scottish licensing laws - it would be considered an alcohol promotion.

Preston Athletic did it earlier in the season.

You can reasonably argue that it is the price of the match ticket that is being discounted, not the alcohol.

CSS have also done it previously.

If we charged £15 for all that we would be well out of pocket!

Admission £10

Programme £3

Pie + Pint £6 (pie price based on what the stadium caterer charges)

So that would be a loss of £4 per head.

I like the principal of deals to get folk in the bar pre match and suggested something similar on here earlier in the season.

So it wasn't actually much of a deal for fans then and more of a deal for the club.

No wonder they only target this at away fans. £15 Away Day Combo - give us more money than you had planned and in return we'll bundle it as a package. Fans who wouldn't normally buy a pie or a drink have now given Berwick more money.

Fair play to Berwick, that's clever marketing.

Don't know how much a pint cost but it was £1.50 for a diet coke so you are probably right. The lounge is quite nice.

I don't have much knowledge of the licening laws so maybe it can be done. I would have assumed that it being bundled in with admission and a pie makes the alcohol part of the deal. But I'm sure the clubs looked into it and it's all about board. If they have an licence then someone at the club will have gone through a course and will know what they can and can't do. Same applies at Cowden - someone will have done the course.

Just to clarify a couple things so no confusion. Jack ruddy is injured at present hence he hasn't been available last few games. We can't sign another gk as it's after 31st March.

Davo was ill today but hopefully back next week. Sam young was allowed to play for dunfermline for his youth team for a final and big game but again should be back next Saturday.

Dean ritchie unfortunately got injured at training and likely out for 4 weeks approx.

Well done to the new gaffer today and to the boys who thoroughly deserved their victory and worked their nuts off. Lot of quality on the ball and real fantastic desire and intensity.

Mon the cowden.

Any news on the Supporters Trust launch?  It was mentioned at the meeting that they were looking to move quite fast, but I guess the new manager coming in may have diverted attention away temporarily.

Maybe with the extra home fixture it will give the chance for a bit more publicity,  need to target a big push online as well, hopefully there are some Cowden fans scattered across the UK who may want to get involved.

I'm sure it's ok(ish) if you sold a "raffle ticket" and every ticket wins a bottle or can of something

Just to change the subject. Anyone got any comments on the game?

Berwick looked very good when they beat us just a few weeks ago so yesterday's result is a pleasant surprise.

This time Cowdenbeath looked much the better side.  Played with real tempo and commitment and were on the front foot from the start - pushing forward as a team

The team were very good and in Andy Black we had a fantastic performance and reason we brought him to the club. There was a high intensity to the team.

After going a goal up  kept creating and trying to get 2nd and 3rd.

Team was solid but played with quality and passed the ball really well. Created I'd say 6 or 7 very good chances.

Berwick were strong with exception of their 2nd gk. We simply were better than them on the day.

You can tell there will be a change in style in terms of press and intensity. It's a good result and performance.

What a difference a competent manager makes! We had a weakened side out and looked like we weren't particularly arsed about their holidays starting now but Cowden were streets ahead on the day. As above, Andrew Black ran the game and Cowden actually looked decent popping the ball about. Maybe back to basics is helping rather than Maurice's ultra sophisticated Premier League level world class coaching, or maybe the players are more willing to work for someone who isn't a complete roaster, who knows. Some promising signs for you though.

Stevenson at centre back while Pyper on the bench seemed a strange one.

Noticed that's Pyper away now.

Sounds very encouraging from yesterday both result and performance and hopefully a reasonable crowd next Saturday that might give the club some extra.

Thoughts on Pyper? Personally would take him back knows the club knows the Lowland League however Elliott understandably will have his own ideas and want to make his own individual stamp on things too I would imagine.
