Bo'ness United 2022/23

Must be the worst if not one of the worst pitches in the league , having said that I’d rather be standing there before the likes of Cumbernauld and Falkirk stadiums .

Thought BU bossed the game and really should have won , we missed quite a few chances whereas Musa wasn’t really troubled .

A lot better than the last match though , so hopefully we can take it into next week and keep a cup run going .

Imagine slagging a good grass pitch when you play on Astro.

Caley Braves v BU this Saturday in the South Challenge Cup.  It's an early 1:30 KO.

Loan signing striker Jamie Penker has played for Spartans in that competition and also the East Qualification Cup.

Unfortunately doesn’t look as if he’s going to get much game time as Spartans come to Newtown early February.

looks like Bo’ness are only giving him some game time to suit Spartans.

I heard that the BU's knew his game time would be restricted but want a good look at Jamie Penker in training to check his fitness and how he fits in at the club before potentially making a bid for the player.

His contract expires according to transfermarker on 31st May 2023 so where’s is there a benefit to Spartans as he will be a free agent after that. As DD said try before you buy.
Simples.

He was top scorer in the lowland league when at Stirling.Surely Christie doesn’t need to see him train to decide if he’s good enough.

Jamie Penker didn't really show us much today.  Got stuck in for an hour before tiring but no really clear chances.    Believe he prefers to play as a second striker so pairing him with a big Dan would maybe be a better option.

Thought our two full backs McArthur and Ward were our best players today.  Loads of energy , while Locke, Gemmell and Alasson all looked tired quite early into the game.

Pitch looked good to the eye yesterday and although the ball bobbled about a bit I think the 2 groundsman deserve credit compared to what it was like previously.

Good to see a settled keeper and back four, becoming a solid unit.

Always hard for a new player coming in but he worked hard.

Was Ryan Stevenson fit? If so I would have hooked alassan at half time, even when moved inside he wasn't at his best but a real good player on his day.

I'm not sure they were tired, the heavy and bobbly park played a part.saying that would have liked to have seen more from them.

Strange move. Seemed to have fallen out of favour but was still the most effective front man in the squad.

Leaving us very thin up top . Like it already wasn’t bad enough. Commitee need to get recruitment sorted out and a plan in place. We’re going absolutely nowhere. If they they think Christie is the man going forward they need to back him and he needs to recruit better. This season is already a disappointment. This cannot continue into next season. People in the town are talking about Athletic as they are riding high. We keep stagnating fans will eventually desert to them
