26 goals scored in 12 games, 15 in 3 of those against bottom of the league teams. Only 11 in the other 9. We need to fix that. Needless penalties and needless red cards cost us a 2 goal lead today. Whether we were the better team or not is debatable but from that position we should have won.
We have 12 league games left this calendar year, 8 against teams below us in the league. Form and tactics need to improve to make this a decent season, to demonstrate an improvement on last season.

No Jones today? What’s the script there?

Disappointing if Stevenson has been transfer listed. Be an asset to any team in our league so wouldn’t want that to come back and bite us on the arse. I have been very critical of him in the past about finding a position and making it his. Playing wide left of a front three I feel he’d finally done that this season to good effect.

Stag party.
Maybe behind the scenes issues who knows.

No loss in last 4. Over to you.

Here we go again. Our players are not good enough, we should be doing better, the lowland league standard has dropped and on and on.
Listen, this is probably the highest level the LL has ever been. Some of the clubs are spending a small fortune and almost every game is competitive. We saw how good Tranent were a few weeks ago and they got turned over yesterday by Gretna.
We do need to improve and we should have seen out the game yesterday but we have too many individual errors which are costing us. Our goalie’s reckless and he’s given away 3 pens in the last few games albeit he’s saved two of them and Tod’s tackle when he was on a yellow card was also rash. We were 2-0 up at that stage and would have seen the game out.
We’ve got Gala, Thorniewood and then Talbot to come in the next few games and all at home. Three wins would be good.

I know that some clubs in the lowland league have spent money to try and improve their squads

History shows that this is no guarantee to success.

When money is tight recruitment has to be spot on.

Christie’s record in this regard is not great.

Having watched all teams in this league this season,in my view the standard has dropped off.

Spot on.

It’s almost Saturday again and the start of 3 big home games on the trot. Goalie and centre half both suspended for the first one but let’s get right up for it and give us the three points to start with.
