Is it 2 up, 2 down from each league next season?

More likely 3 up/down given that's what the Premier had in 2019/20 before Covid stopped things.

Other questions are whether the Second Division will go to 16 meaning more relegation, and how a net gain/loss from the Lowland League will cascade throughout the divisions.

Between Premier- First and First-Second it should be 3up, 3 down. Thanks to Tranent's win there's going to be 16-16 so it doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

It'll be at Second-Third there will be a difference. Possible 4down, 2up. So as to make it 16-16-16-??

The usual playoff net gains and losses being factored in.

I think the Second will be reduced to boost numbers in the Third.   I can't see more than one or two clubs applying in any given season, and the Third can accommodate 18 if needs be.  So aye, maybe 2 up (from 9 or 10), and 4 down (from 18). Seems reasonable.

It would be good if the Third Division also went to 3 up so that someone other than Armadale and Bo'ness have something to play for (as will be the case in the Second with Whitburn and Syngenta). And then 5 down from the Second would help make the Third less of a West Lothian league.

I think Penicuik might struggle next season.

They could be looking for a completely new striking force.  After losing Nicky Reid and Kieran Watson on pre contracts to Edinburgh City, they could also be without Paul Tansey, at her majesty's pleasure, after he plead guilty to a domestic abuse charge.

I get what you're saying, but if they relegate 5 auto, it could rise to 7 depending on what happens above.  Too much.

True, if Jeanfield don’t have another horror start, they should be ahead.

Penicuik haven’t really played great all season but I can’t think of who else in that league can win as many games while playing average stuff

I think the Second will be interesting at the top. There's a few clubs that would see themselves at the old East Region Premier level that will be annoyed to have fallen so low.

Agree, on the face of it Thornton Hibs are always a strong team at this level, a rejuvenated St.Andrews Utd, HWU always a good team, throw in a surprise packet eg Arniston Rangers and it won't be a walk in the park for Whitburn/Syngenta.

Thornton have been probably the biggest disappointment this season.

They looked an awesome team in their last season of the juniors, but dallied too long and lost a big chunk of their squad to Burntisland etc

Installed as favourites already 👍

Third Division could well be 10 clubs if rumours are to be believed.

Harthill Royal hopefully will be team 10 if the rumours which you mention come through.

......... surely NOT Hearts B ?

What is the rumour being alluded to? Would I be correct in guessing that Harthill Royal are being touted for a move back to the east after their ill advised move to the WoSFL?

If so, wasn’t there a deadline for EoSFL applicants that has long since passed with, apparently, no new applications - Harthill or otherwise - being lodged ahead of that deadline?
