Chelsea or Man Citeh champs

Fulham, Palace, Leicester, Bournemouth, Wolves and Southampton to battle the relegation places.

Everton need to sign a few players to improve the squad or they will be back in the relegation battle too. FFP will limit their ability to invest in top quality replacements so they'll need to sell the likes of Richarlison or Calvert-Lewin.. They also need to offload overpaid duds like Keane, Gomes, Gbamin, Alli, Iwobi and Rondon but it will be very difficult and probably costly. A decent manager would help too...

That's your Pogba away.  His second spell at Old Trafford has epitomized how badly Man United have been run the last decade or so.  A brilliant natural talent who was wasted by a club that didn't know what to do with him or how to get the best out of him

Another factor was that Raiola, his greedy agent, tried to sell him on every summer. There were planted stories in the English, Spanish and Italian media almost every week. If he hadn't carked, Raiola would have been up to the same tricks with Haaland.

It looks like Darwin Nunez is going to sign for Liverpool for £80m. Manchester United apparently pulled out of the deal as they think he is overpriced and might have trouble adapting to the #Barclays.

Portuguese football is rotten so MU might have a point but as soon as he's announced at Liverpool the media will have him as a fantastic bargain at half the price and Mane traitorous wee shite.

There are many players who have successfully moved from Portuguese clubs to the EPL, notably Ronaldo, and other top European leagues. Wolves have recruited several Portuguese players and players from clubs in the country. They sold Jota to Liverpool for a large profit.

Luis Diaz looks good value at £42m in today's inflated transfer market. Liverpool will have scouted Nunez extensively and only pay top dollar for players that they really want . Given Man United's dreadful recruitment in recent years, e.g. Dalot, I would view such a statement with huge scepticism.

Time will tell if he’s worth £80 million. It seems high though.

It's too high for the player he currently is, IMO, but if he does fulfill his potential it'll look like a great deal.

He's worse than Haaland at the moment but he doesn't have the same injury problems so you maybe think long term he'll be the better signing.

I do wonder how much of Haalands injury problems were him being over cautious in his last season before his big move.

He has a rather odd body type so maybe the issues will be more chronic.

Hope not though, he's a good player to watch. Not many footballers in the past are similar to him.

Care to elaborate on this, please?

Well, it's quite obvious when you look at him.

He's far taller, heavier, faster and more muscular than the average footballer - who typically have bodies more akin to middle distance runners.

These are all ostensibly good things, but it wouldn't surprise me if it also came with weaknesses such as increased pressure on joints etc, especially given the twisting and turning nature of elite football.

Rooney and original Ronaldo are other examples of unusual body types (short and very stocky) and it may have led to increased injuries.

But I'm not a doctor, this is all just my view as an extremely unqualified observer. I think it's also likely he wasn't willing to take many risks last year because he knew he would be moving on, his injuries appear more frequent and less serious rather than infrequent and very serious.
