Easy for you to say given your team are safe from relegation.
Glens knew exactly what they were doing by not agreeing to switch the game.
Should’ve been taken out both teams hands and moved to the Saturday as both team’s were not playing on that day.

Tell me again how Glenafton have done something "unsporting" and "totally unfair" when they did what they were meant to?

They turned up, ready and able to play the game, and they tried to

Surely your beef is either with Kenny and the League or Blantyre?

Glenafton were well aware that by sticking to the Wednesday fixture was going to make it harder to field a full team as Blantyre had asked for the game to be switched as they knew they would be struggling for a team.
Yes the League/Kenny should have stepped in and forced the cancellation and none of this nonsense would’ve arisen.

How is "sticking" to a fixture given by the league anything other than what you are meant to do when you can raise a team and are happy to play?

Do you think clubs should have a choice of when they fulfill a fixture and fit their arrangements round clubs who cant get a team together?  This would make the league "more professional" and "fairer" in your eyes?

Seems a strange viewpoint

Anyone who knows anything about football in the west of Scotland knows that no team should be playing at the same time as Rangers in a Euro final.
The minute the semifinal result was clear and the Europa final date was confirmed all other games in Scotland should’ve been rescheduled.

Ok, we are getting somewhere

I take it then your quarrel is with the league for not rearranging the fixture, nothing to do with Glenafton being "unsporting" or "totally unfair"

As i said, yes there was a strong case for that, i think the league had the chance to head this off at the pass, and its disappointing that their fall back has been that the rule book didnt cover the scenario, which is a big concern if we are going back to the days of common sense being overruled by blazers with rule books clasped to their chests

Correct my beef is that Glenafton should’ve had no say in rearranging the game as the League should’ve automatically sorted that out given the clash with the Euro final but by not making that call it allowed Glen’s to use it to their advantage.

No.

You can argue that the league could have ASKED Blantyre & Glenafton if they wanted the fixture moved but if either team said no thanks, by the rule book it would have had to go ahead as scheduled.

Same result.

Maybe a bit hypothetical, but what do you think would have happened if the fixture had clashed with a huge Scotland game ?

Not hypothetical at all. The Junior Cup final was moved for this very reason.

This is exactly what happened. The date was fixed. Blantyre wanted the game moved. Glenafton refused. If the league are allowed to move fixtures there would be an argument regarding the circumstances for moving them. Rangers games, Celtic Games, Scotland games whatever.

Lots of folk from New Cumnock support Rangers but Glenafton we’re willing to fulfil the fixture as originally scheduled. If there is an issue it is with Blantyre seeking a way not to fulfil the fixture.
