The virus, known also as monkeypox, is understood to be primarily infecting people who have not travelled from Western Africa. Signs of infection include fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills and exhaustion. Cases have been reported in Canada, Spain and the UK among other countries. Is it time to stock up on those little surgical masks? Are we all completely fucked? Should I take the Tamiflu I stockpiled for bird flu? Have any P&Bers ever been part of a worldwide pandemic? This looks confusing. It has primarily affected people who have NOT travelled from Western Africa. This suggests that if I travel from Inverness to Dingwall directly then I am more at risk than if I did so via Timbuktu. Have I understood that wrong?

I remember a few years back there was some rumours of a worldwide pandemic. Britain boogied through it led by the glorious Boris Johnson so it didn’t affect me personally. My cousin in Hong Kong had to stay at home for a while though.

"Monkey pox", nobody's going to take that seriously until it gets a better name. Chimpfluenza?

Donathan
Not sure wearing a mask helps to prevent STDs. Unless his argument is that mask wearing weirdos never get laud. He might be on to something if that’s the case.

We're on the verge of needing a world league table of cases with humorous commentary about how the lads from Spain are putting a good run together to climb the table. I won't be freaked out by the coincidence until I hear locked-down Italians singing out of their balconies.
