Leaves the 28th open for replaying the Blantyre game.

Hopefully the Blantyre game will not be replayed

Nothing will be said about a replay until after the 23rd. If Glenafton win, the replay will be moot anyway. Yes, Benburb would then be in 7th bottom but that would only matter if Darvel didn't win but they will.

Failing to fulfil a fixture would be the obvious one - they clearly did not make much attempt to get a team together or they wouldn't have started with seven players.

Strictly speaking, the fixture was fulfilled. Nothing stopping a team starting a game with less than 11 players.

Fulfilling the fixture means completing it, not just starting it.

The referee abandoned the match, so they played as long as the referee allowed the match to continue.

Highly embarrassing between the Blantyre farce and the Cambuslang Rangers fiasco.

To think certain people on here have spent months criticising the Lowland League as being a joke outfit.

Aye. Blantyre knew exactly what they were doing. "What? Us? We turned up in good faith to fulfill the fixture with the best team available to us. Honest."

Fulfilling the fixture means completing it, not just starting it.

That argument could be made if they walked off the pitch, but the ref called it with legitimate reasons which officially anyway was out with the control of Blantyre

The game wasn't stopped because of a floodlight failure or bad weather or a serious injury, it was stopped because Blantyre didn't have enough players. That's entirely their problem and trying to dance around that on a technicality shouldn't work or I'd be very concerned about the people running the league.

Blantyre should be chucked out of the league because of their actions, they’re making a fool of the league

Get a grip. You are talking about a club that has been around since 1889 that we should all hope will still be around long after the present committee and players are no longer involved. This isn't some pub team but a club that won the SJC three times. They requested a change on scheduling and when that was refused by Glenafton were still able to start the game with the minimum necessary number of players so they did technically do enough to fulfill the fixture obligation even if not being able to complete it is likely to result in a 3-0 forfeit.

Personally think questions should be asked as to whether it was actually reasonable to have WoS fixtures clash with something like a Europa League final that a Scottish club is involved in and whether the associated rule on fixture changes could be redrafted to make avoiding clashing with huge games like that which players and officials are going to want to watch live a reasonable request that the fixture secretary has to honour.

Longtime Lurker you say your team are not a pub team, well maybe they shouldn’t act like it,if Glenafton can turn up +the officials +7 Blantyre players ,the rest of your team let the good name of Blantyre Vics down and should face the consequences

I can accept they should be fined if it winds up being a forfeited game, but talk of throwing them out the league would be a massive overreaction. Used to go into Castle Park quite a bit as a kid (the gate was usually left open so it wasn't difficult to do) and occasionally watched them play but I am not connected to the Vics in any way.

is the lowland league play off round robin decided by goal difference ?  if it is

for instance what if st. cuthberts pulled out v darvel  who are awarded a 3-0 win

but play tranent who win 4-0.   tranent and darvel play out a draw

i'm sure the shit would hit the fan then

something should be put in place in the rules to make sure this scenario can't happen in the future for any club

ps  not having a go at st.cuthberts     just using an example

Matches which end in a draw are decided by a penalty shoot-out for an extra point.

We’ve had fixture free saturdays in the wosl to accommodate the junior cup etc, if anything it makes it clear another organisations cup should never be allowed to take precedence over meaningful fixtures again. The idea of moving football matches because of games not even involving wosl clubs when there are several outstanding fixtures is amateurish at best.

It's an organisation a lot of WOSL clubs still belong to.
