Wagatha Christie case

Telling The Sun what Colleen Rooney has posted on Instagram isn’t a criminal offence. Yet.

If I understand it correctly Vardy claims that her agent or someone else who worked for her had access to her Instagram meaning that the post where Rooney named Vardy as being responsible defamed Vardy.

I think Vardy is going to win. Win the case that is, no-one wins in the long run as we all have to read about this shit and it’ll cost everyone involved millions of pounds. I guess the lawyers win.

BBC reporting that the legal fees will be about £1million each. And the damages are likely to be between £15,000 and £40,000.

He (media lawyer Jonathan Coad) estimates that the legal costs for each side will be upwards of £1m and that even the winner will only recover about 70% of their legal bill, leaving them with around £300,000 still to pay. If any damages are awarded, they are only likely to be in the £15,000 to £40,000 range.

"It makes no sense for either of them," Mr Coad concludes. "Even the winner is going to come out with a massive loss."

The fact we have news, social media etc available 24 hours means that something as insignificant like this (to most of us) becomes totally mainstream. BBC, ITV, Sky etc must be rubbing their hands at such a 'freebie'.

Sadly, as mentioned already, it means that things like the cost of living, Ukraine, MP's behaviour etc etc will get less reported.

What might be exposed as a result of this case could be interesting? Hopefully we get some decent Gifs/Memes to have a laugh at?

The Wagatha Christie libel trial: What we've heard so far
So far today, London's High Court has heard:

- Rebekah 'tried to "do the dirty" and spill the beans on unrest in the Leicester City dressing room when star player Riyad Mahrez went "on strike";

- Jamie Vardy's wife denied that she or her publicist Caroline Watt leaked that story to The Sun newspaper and that she had been 'gossiping';

- But the WAG admitted that Ms Watt would 'do her dirty work' for her;

- She and Ms Watt also allegedly discussed leaking a story about a female celebrity accused of cheating on her husband with a 'well-known footballer';

- Rebekah insisted that she had been 'joking' about leaking that story.

Would like to see Wayne and Jamie have a fight outside the court.

Would be more likely to have a pint together and bond over the shared pain of being married to utter melts.

Well, maybe a cup of tea, given Rooney's recent revelations.

You'd think that but surely just by the fact it's got this far they're clearly both supporting their partners in this shitfest, probably only nodding along but still mental nobody's thought this is actually a pointless massive waste of time and talked them out of it.

It's all relative.  It's a massive loss to the likes of us.  It's a weeks wages to them that they won't give a seconds thought to.

That Vardy bint is just Isa from still game ain’t she?  Bit mad that she was shagging Peter Andre years ago.  Almost as if she was a fame seeking attention whore before she met up with a premier league football player.  A player lets not forget only said racists thing’s once and was unlucky enough to be filmed.

Also that Rooney cow too.  Her man’s done more pensioner screwing than Suniak.  Does she leave him?  No.  Pair of arseholes.  I’m glad it’s costing their husbands a fortune.

A cursory glance at the "infuriating things your partners do" thread will show this to be a fallacious assumption.
