Wattful United v Witless Motherwell

Is there any value in firing the ball into our own net in the first minute to allow the full 90 for the fight back?

You jest, but we've scored first in 6 of our last 9* games and failed to win any of them.

Best way to guarantee leaving Tannadice with at least a point is to concede early and then watch the United players crawl back into their shells until you take the lead.

* Or thereabouts.

It’s an interesting strategy and is maybe worth a try.  What’s the worst that can happen?

Well no, but even if he's playing slightly differently, it's hard to call moving to a team which finishes higher up the table and reaches Europe, all while earning more money on a longer contract, a mistake!

It was a tongue in cheek comment.

Not looking forward to this at all. We'll concede first then get an equaliser only for Tony Watt to get United's winner in the second half.

Like everyone else I don't want Efford anywhere near the starting 11 but I think we all know he will start and Woolery will be brought on with only 5 minutes remaining with Utd 2-1 up.

Motherwell to score first through KvV,  United to equalise and then lead through a Watt brace, both times Watt performs a GIRFUY celebration. We look poor most of the second half and Alexander makes 2 subs on the 80th minute to no avail.

“It’s the same squad as last week, no-one has recovered in time, no-one has got the training time under their belt," he explained.

Translation: "everyone has recovered, am also considering giving the assistant groundsman his debut on the wing just for a laugh"
