Bottom line I don't think Ayr will sink via the playoffs.

Some fairly gubbins outfits have overcome challenging play-off oponents in recent years.

Queens Park will probably be dealt with relatively comfortably imo.

Airdrie and Montrose are good teams but over two legs I would fancy Ayr against either of them.

Based on our games against both, I would have Airdrie as favourites against Ayr tbh. I’d rather Ayr stayed up over Airdrie, but I wouldn’t expect them to.

I don’t think Ayr will be in the playoffs though.

Airdrie would give me the fear.  They are on a ridiculously good run

Plus they bloody hate us and would love nothing better than to relegate us

Again

I really fancy Airdrie in the play-offs this season but I think Ayr will avoid the play-offs with a 1-0 win tonight.

There's no real incentive to chase the game at 1-0 up and no real incentive for Thistle to chase either unless crazy stuff is happening in Kirkcaldy.

Unfortunately for us you’re assuming there that Ayr are going to score the first goal - something we’ve only managed half a dozen times all season.

Nil in our way. No chance

You won't have to exert yourselves too much to go away with a win tbh.

Early goal and just coast the rest of the game.

Or score in the last 15 mins to make it even worse for us.

Aren't Airdrie notoriously shite in the playoffs? Think they've only ever gone / stayed up because other teams went bust (Gretna / Rangers ) or got demoted (Livi). Suppose they've been better this season but I'd still fancy Ayr or Dunfermline to stay up.

Aye, even when they relegated us they got absolutely bodied off Dumbarton.

Leaving the game itself aside for a second, chances of a 50+ guy, fresh out of Covid isolation, making it to Netwon-On-Ayr Station in time for the 21:47 train leaving at full-time?

Looks doable but a bit tight.

It's a good ten minute walk from the Somerset road end so another few minutes if you're leaving the railway end. Chances are you'll get stuck trying to cross the road at Tam's Brig too.

I'd say 8/11 you miss it.

11/10 that you make it.

I've managed it for a 7.45pm kick off at Ayr before by just watching the last of the few minutes of the game from right at the exit from the away end to avoid any queueing to get out.
