They were called Electric Mongoose. Had a big hit in 1972 with "Baby Cakes" then collapsed in legal acrimony by 1981 as their audience became more selective. "Ironic" students in the late 90's gave them a 2nd lease of life touring university towns but they then split again into "The Original Electric Mongoose" and "Pete Wild's Electric Mongoose Experience", and both are currently on the road touring Butlin's and village halls in fishing villages.
