Bully Wee Villa
Rutherglen Glencairn new members of the SFA. Does that mean they can enter the cup straight away or will they have to wait? GNU_Linux
Bonnyton will become the first team from Kilmarnock besides Kilmarnock FC to take part in the Scottish Cup since Kilmarnock Athletic in 1897-1898. Ginaro
At the rate things are going, with a few more clubs expected to announce they are licensed, we'll soon reach the maximum for the preliminary round (space for 7 more clubs).

First Round having 15 byes and 11 qualifiers added to the Highland and Lowland would mean the Preliminary Round can fit 52 clubs. Tier 6 and below is now 42 with the known additions of Benburb, Bonnyton Thistle, Kilwinning Rangers, Rutherglen Glencairn, and Tayport. Drumchapel United (Cup Winners Shield), Carnoustie Panmure (East Region Midlands League), and Tower Hearts (Scottish Amateur Cup). Takes things to 45. Waiting on Pollok, St Andrews United, Lochee United as possible SFA members and Invergordon (North Caledonian) a possible qualifier.

Ginaro
Must be the final club to announce their licence, which brings us to 124 clubs (the biggest number since one of those all-in late-1800s editions?), so 22 fixtures and 4 byes in the preliminary round. Ranaldo Bairn
Have the SFA made a statement, or are we just relying on individual clubs' socials?

The club's for the most part of the published their letters from the SFA. Not sure what any club would benefit by announcing something publicly if it wasn't set. 9 minutes ago, Ginaro said: Must be the final club to announce their licence, which brings us to 124 clubs (the biggest number since one of those all-in late-1800s editions?), so 22 fixtures and 4 byes in the preliminary round. Only Lochee United from those thought to be amongst this season's batch of new members. Plus the status of Invergordon as NCL champion being a qualifier.
craigkillie
Have the SFA made a statement, or are we just relying on individual clubs' socials?I don't think the SFA tend to announce anything related to licensing.

Whoops, forgot about them, hopefully they also got a letter and Larry is just being ultra cautious about posting it... 1 minute ago, craigkillie said: I don't think the SFA tend to announce anything related to licensing. They used to announce new SFA members - they did so for Kelty and LTHV as 89 and 90th members where the President or others were there for a photoshoot. But that was before the influx of new members and the negativity surrounding Bonnyrigg's initial rejection... https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/lothian-thistle-hutchison-vale-become-90th-scottish-fa-member-club/?rid=13929 https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/kelty-hearts-confirmed-as-the-89th-scottish-fa-member-club/?rid=13929
mick90
Means a lot to the new clubs and others who will be applying .... but nowhere near a real `compeition` as in France, where all clubs can enter, plus those in foreign departments (7307 last season) ..... you know .. Arran, Shetland, Orkney, W.Isles, Skye, Rothesay. Balamory ... lookin forward to it, if I last another 100 years.
craigkillie
Basically every club in Scotland enters our Scottish Cup too, either directly via licensing or through one of the many qualifying competitions. The only slight anomaly which will hopefully be resolved soon is the NCL.

RossBFaeDundee
Lochee United confirm their SFA licensing, and I'm delighted to see it. 2022/23 will be the first edition of the Scottish Cup with 3 licensed SFA members from Dundee since 1912/13. https://www.facebook.com/Official.Lochee/posts/412014950932000
