Since they started broadcasting the early rounds they have been to Kelty, Bonnyrigg, Linlithgow, Dundonald, Queen's Park, Dundee, Berwick, Clydebank and Brechin. The Pollok game the other night was only the third one scheduled for the Glasgow area in that entire period.

Shocking no live games for Highland League grounds in all this time. Buckie v Broomhill sounds like a cracking tie to come to

Pollock v Annan wouldn’t be a terrible pick under normal circumstances so the BBC could make up for binning Friday’s game fairly easily.

Fraserburgh v Stranraer and Kilwinning v Forfar look good for potential shocks.

No, the way we are playing at the moment Stranraer will not cause a shock by winning at Fraserburgh.

Does anyone have any idea of the breakdown for Scottish Cup prize money/appearance money as such per round for this years tournament?

From a couple of years ago but:

Quote

WILLIAM HILL SCOTTISH CUP 2019-20

CLUB BONUS PAYMENTS

Clubs playing in the 1st Preliminary Round will receive (26 clubs)  £3,000
Clubs playing in the 2nd Preliminary Round will receive (14 clubs)  £3,000
Clubs playing in Round One will receive (36 clubs)    £4,000
Clubs playing in Round Two will receive (32 clubs)    £5,000
Clubs playing in Round Three will receive (32 clubs)    £6,000
Clubs playing in Round Four will receive (32 clubs)  £20,000
Clubs playing in Round Five will receive (16 clubs)   £40,000
Clubs Playing in Round Six will receive (8 clubs)    £80,000
Semi-Finalist Clubs will receive (4 clubs)    £100,000
Loser of the Final Tie will receive    £160,000
Winner of the Final Tie will receive    £240,000

TV Money is still the same deal as 2019-20, so imagine the prize money will be the same more or less (obviously there was only one Prelim round this year)

As for TV I think it's £2-3k per club in R1-3 and £18-30k from R4 onwards from memory

It never occurred to me Annan would get a tv game - Pollok- yes it will happen.

Glasgow centric,central based biased whatever.

They fall over themselves when Thistle or Clyde have any sort of bigger game.

Cheaper and easier for their staff.

Someone explain to Slaney there is a bit called Buckie ,it's no just a drink.

Hi no bad shout Buckie v OG Broomhill for tv - then again Si & Slaney wouldn't like to score against a team wearing the green & white hoops !

Eight live games since 2000 for Clyde for anyone wondering. Celtic 05,06,20 Rangers 12,14, Airdrie 09, Dundee United 08, Motherwell 18. So aye never off the tele

Cumnock Juniors v Dumbarton on the Friday 21st October and Pollok v Annan Athletic on the Monday 24th have been chosen for live BBC coverage. Both k-o at 7.45pm.

Happy that Pollok v Annan match has been chosen.
I would have missed the game if it was played on the Saturday

It's feckin' well POLLOK, without a "c". #Notafeckinfish !

If you lot don't want to be called Anal Athletic in the match programme GET THE NAME RIGHT!

Would imagine a lot of phones will auto correct it. Easy mistake to make.

Good to see the BBC are making things right after the last time. Suits me perfectly as I wouldn't have made it on the Friday! Leaves Saturday free to possibly take in one of the other games.

Now to see if public transport can get me to Cumnock on the Friday then ! Disappointed that they haven't chosen a game for the Sunday, will have to find another game to finish my holiday. Glad that Pollok have been given a slot anyway, to make up for last time, good luck to all non leaguers.

Cumnock is a nightmare by train. Nearest is Auchinleck and trains are fairly irregular.

Bus from Kilmarnock is straightforward enough but at the moment stagecoach aren't running services to the bus station there at night due to anti social behaviour so may be limited options wise there.

I’m sure they played Dumbarton in the mid sixties as well

It's certainly less than you'd think for a club that had been trying for 145yrs. Equally them failing to qualify very often after the Scottish Qualifying Cup was introduced in 1895 is in itself an indication of their low standard most of the time. This was seemingly their 25th away tie:

1878-79     Queen's Park WO-Scr Glasgow University
1879-80     Third Lanark 1-1 Glasgow University
1879-80     Third Lanark 6-0 Glasgow University
1880-81     Dumbarton 9-0 Glasgow University
1881-82     Cartvale 5-4 Glasgow University
1882-83     Partick Thistle WO-Scr Glasgow University
1884-85     Northern 6-4 Glasgow University
1887-88     Thistle 6-0 Glasgow University
1888-89     Uddingston WO-Scr Glasgow University

1927-28     Albion Rovers 5-1 Glasgow University
1928-29     Kilmarnock 8-1 Glasgow University

1955-56     Forres Mechanics 3-2 Glasgow University
1956-57     Vale of Leithen 6-1 Glasgow University
1959-60     St Mirren 15-0 Glasgow University
1968-69     Kilmarnock 6-0 Glasgow University
1970-71     Clachnacuddin 2-1 Glasgow University
1975-76     Albion Rovers 1-1 Glasgow University

2010-11     Beith 8-1 Glasgow University
2013-14     Gala Fairydean Rovers 3-1 Glasgow University
2015-16     Cumbernauld Colts 3-0 Glasgow University
2017-18     Threave Rovers 2-1 Glasgow University
2018-19     Preston Athletic 3-1 Glasgow University
2019-20     Banks o'Dee 5-0 Glasgow University
2021-22     Broomhill 6-0 Glasgow University

2022-23     Forres Mechanics 2-3 Glasgow University

Edinburgh City just scraped past them on penalties after a 0-0 draw in a Quali Cup Quarter final in the late 1990s otherwise their cup history might have been slightly better. I think that was the year City put the Shire out too ..

The game was played on a rugby pitch at Garscube as they had moved out of the old ground at Westerlands (where I saw Spartans beat them 1-0 in 1995)
