Formartine have been hit and miss so far this season, don't know much about the Shire either but I'm sure they're better than the odds would suggest.

Agreed. I picked out this game to go to as thought it would be competitive and could go either way.

Have been caught up in train and now bus shenanigans due to the Dyce body-on-the-roundabout incident, so arriving in time for kick-off looking unlikely.

Not much luck up there with the traffic and dead bodies last week and this.

Are the BBC not updating scores out of #respect or are they just shite?

There's only full time results on xscores so presumably there's no data feed / source like the SPFL games. And going through twitter or looking at the Scottish Cup twitter is obviously too much effort. https://www.xscores.com/soccer/country-games/scotland

I don't see why they can't come to am arrangement with clubs doing their own social media.

Bet 365 were doing in play betting for Pollok last night and a gentleman from Genius Sports was in doing all the updates so BBC could have gotten a slice of that.

The BBC are too lazy to source info for competitions they don't value, ie, mostly Scottish ones.

There are actually highlights of Pollok-Huntly now on the BBC website. So there were cameras there. What were the 'resources' they didn't have enough of? Are Leanne Crichton and Michael Stewart pitching in asking queuers stupid questions down in London?

Was at Kilwinning v Tranent today, a deserved victory for the home team despite going 2-0 down. Was pretty disappointed in Tranent considering their current league placing - wonder if they will regret the appointment of Nish, players arguing amongst themselves a bit today even when they were winning.

An absolute shocker for Forres, that was Glasgow Uni's first ever away win in the Scottish Cup, and they've been entering it almost since it started.

And they had an outside broadcast unit available today for the Camanachd Cup final so not all of their resources have been redeployed to That London!

Believe getting the OB Unit from Pollok to Fort William(?) and everything set up in time would have been to big a job for the one OB Unit.

Still silly they couldn't have got shot of another one - the Super6 Rugby was shown on FreeSports last night. QTV would have probably had one available.

Might not be TV standard - but enough to ensure a game could have been streamed live.

This also canned a planned change of scenery trip to Lossiemouth today. Ended up at Spain Park instead - a scruffy low quality slugfest with very little in it until Banks O' Dee got their second. Turriff weren't blown away, but they are utterly chronic in front of goal, ran out of legs, and conceded another two. Home side not at their best compared to last season's exploits, but in the hat they go.

Anyway, headed down to Perth for the early kick-off.

Jeanfield Swifts 1-5 Brechin City
Att: 365 (although I think there was at least 50 atop of that, that were nonpayers)

First time heading to the Riverside Stadium, a nice wee ground - Mince Pie was excellent as well

As for the game, first half was pretty even with Swifts arguably having the better of the chances. City came out flying in the second half and after scoring on 50 minutes looked pretty one-way traffic. It was quickly 3-0 City, and should have been 4 if it wasn't for Northcott missing an open goal.

Swifts made a fist of it after getting a fortuitous own goal with 15 to go, and then hit the bar a couple of minutes later. Two late goals for Brechin made it 1-5, which was a tad harsh on the Perth side, but Brechin showed why they're top of the Highland League and roll on to R2.

At £1 per goal, you have to say that's excellent value. Very smart idea by Swifts to switch the kick-off to try and attract those heading to the Saintees game at 3pm as well; wish more clubs did that more often.

We seem to say it more and more frequently nowadays... but another bad weekend for the Highland League.

They had 18 participants in R1 but got just 6 through, and 2 of them were all-HL ties. In contrast Lowland, East and West had 16, 13 and 9 but sent 7, 7 and 8 through respectively (with Uni of Stirling v LTHV still to come).

Have they ever been the worst represented of the principal non-leagues in R2 before?
