We didn’t panic at all. We realised in a timely fashion that Wright wasn’t going to deliver what was expected and got rid. We then recruited one of the top managers in the country and to date are now back on track to achieve our aim of getting straight back up.

Panic would be hiring journeyman boss Peter Grant for some as yet unknown bizarre reason, being an embarrassment for months then binning him for that guid guid big laddie John Yogi Hughes and still being mostly pish with on paper a highly underperforming squad.

Killie should have ran away with the title, they weren't so therefore panicked and threw a lot of money at the problem. It's predictably been highly effective.

Every Pars fan knows how shite we've been this season but confused how it has anything to do with Killie other than a lame "Look over there!" deflection.

Yeah cos we’re the first team to get rid of an underperforming manager and bring in players in the January window aren’t we? I understand your seething jealousy, but try not to let it consume you x

If there is a big Killie support heading up you'd be well advised to either get your tickets in advance or arrive in plenty of time to queue at the front of the main stand to get a ticket then queue again to get into the South Stand.

There's a real chance you will outnumber the home support at this rate.

C’mon, it’s got to be more exciting winning the league at Rugby Park in front of a big crowd.

What are the odds on a Killie / QOS away double this weekend?

Pretty safe bet that the title race will still be alive next Friday.

There are a couple of supporters clubs running a 2nd bus and some of the local bowling clubs are running one to.

They'll be a very decent support there considering it's a Friday night but taking advantage of the holiday weekend.

Most appear to have bought online already judging by comments on our own social media.

Making a weekend of it with wife and kids. Taking wee boy to the game while the girls relax at the hotel. If walking from the city centre, what are we looking at to get to the stadium? Half an hour? Via Longman Road then Henderson Drive through what looks like an industrial estate? Or taxi if available?  TIA for any heads up.

Depends on your boy's age, might be a long walk at 30 -45 minutes for him if he's under say five, better take your car or taxi. Or if your hotel is close to Greig street then use the Caley social club where you can get the bus from the club there and back. Hope the wee man enjoys himself.

A Friday night away game, live on cooncil telly at the other end of the country will cut the away support dramatically.

Caley have said this morning there's over 1.1k sold for the away end, can only imagine what it would have been at 3pm on a Saturday.

Super Killie Away 💙

At what point did I claim you were the first? What a ridiculous claim.

Most folk knew Killie would do it precisely because it's happened so many times before. It's a terrible standard and injecting better quality players and manager is very likely to result in success. Why wouldn't you break the emergency glass if you can afford it?

This narrative some Killie fans are pushing that they "came back from the dead" is wild though, when they really just avoided an embarrassing failure of failing to win a one horse race.

If your hotel is in the city centre, go down Academy St until you get to the Phoenix Bar, turn right into Rose St, up the flight of steps over the railway line and then head straight down on the left hand side of Longman Road towards the Kessock Bridge, cross at the roundabout and onwards to the stadium.

Like Sandy says it will depend on the age of the wee man. I'd certainly allow for about 30 minutes walk from the town centre anyway. If you do walk the Longman Road / Henderson Drive option is probably the best as it avoids crossing the A9 but that adds a wee bit of time onto your journey as you'll be walking away from the stand you will be in. The ICT Supporters Club on Greig Street runs a bus to the game and straight back after for about £4 IIRC. A taxi will be probably something like £5 or £6 each way and you can get them on Academy Street by The Filling Station restaurant.

Unlike Sandy however I hope you have a shite time

Your general approach to what is a standard footballing January is wildly hysterical. “Panicked”. “Break the emergency glass”. Christ knows how you cope in an actual crisis. Do you just faint and wait for it to end?

How was it ever a one horse race? Killie lost most of their squad last season and had to rebuild. It was the media and fans of other teams who seemed to think we should have walked it. If Killie do go on and win the league it should be other clubs who should be embarrassed as it is the worst Kilmarnock team since the 80s

To be fair, last season’s team was pretty shite.

Whilst I came into this season thinking we should, and probably would get promoted, at no point did I think it would ever be anything like a one horse race. We’ve never been streets ahead of the likes of Partick, ICT, Raith etc. Plus you always have your surprises, which this season has been Arbroath’s plucky hybrid squad.

Why would fans of other clubs be embarrassed finishing behind the club with the biggest budget?
