Given the erratic voting nature of SPFL clubs over the last few years on various issues, I wouldn’t rely on them to do anything.

Because the whole point of the pyramid is to change the dynamics, in our case, of the Wosfl.
Take the top say 6 clubs out the Wosfl and the clubs below get a chance to replace them at the top.
An example would be Rutherglen Glencairn.
Imagine the Glencairn being a top 6 side in the Wosfl league, pushing for promotion and getting a run in the big Scottish.
To me that's what the pyramid is all about.
A team like Rutherglen Glencairn and maybe 30 others thinking hey this is what it's all about.
Oh absolutely, and that is our long-term plan. We know we can't compete financially with the likes of Auchinleck, Darvel, Pollok, Clydebank, Kilwinning, Cumnock etc. But when these teams are up in the Lowland League and the poorer quality LL teams are down in the WOSFL, we aim to be challenging for promotion to the LL ourselves.

Certainly not forgetting club 42. A lot of teams at that level are much poorly supported compared to Talbot, Pollok, Clydebank etc. Once the SFA handouts stop I can see them becoming mid table fodder resulting on voting for the Colts teams as additional income. Look at East Stirling and Berwick Rangers. Even Brechin up north are only 3rd.

When the big ex-junior clubs get a hold of SFA handouts and get a foothold higher up the pyramid it’s curtains for a number of the smaller SFL clubs.

All Scottish FA licensed member clubs sign a declaration saying they are committed to the pyramid system, so the WoSFL champions are committed to playing in the Lower Pyramid Play-Off and, if they win it, they are committed to promotion. They can't just say "thanks for the trophy, but we'll just stay where we are".

What also has to be considered is that several other WoSFL clubs' league status for next season hangs on whether the WoSFL champions win the play-off or not. If they do, then only 6 teams would be relegated from the Premier Division, and consequently one extra team would also move into the First Division and Second Division from this season's Conference places.

A few teams will be relying on the integrity of the WoSFL champions' performance in the play-offs.
Love the last paragraph.

Fully prepared for Talbot winning the league and fielding their U12s side in the play off final!

What SFA handouts are you referring to?

Well, I believe they can, but presumably they'd lose their licence?

🙄 expect more depth to your analysis m8. Competing with a squad of Darvels size and resources over the number of games was always going to be difficult.

But it was about the voting margins staying the same as Tier 6 champions are likely to just be passing through in a single season.

East Stirlingshire voted against the Colts in the last vote, and Berwick Rangers abstained. Not sure how either voted on the relegation issue. I think i've seen it said East Stirlingshire voted for change.

If Club 42 and the LL champion that gets promoted are of the same voting mind. Then the voting margins should change sooner than later.

The biggest thing is, the SPFL2 teams want a smaller relegation so this makes promotion from below small but they are so dumb they don't realize that if they all voted for 2 up n 2 down with a 3rd bottom, top 3 playoff then it means if they are relegated then there is a bigger chance of being promoted, same goes for the Lowland League teams. Think if you ask East Stirlingshire, Berwick Rangers and Brechin City then they would all concur.

When you look back at each time, those teams were relegated if you had asked the fans do they expect to go back up and most would have said yes. Brechin City, committee, management, Craig Levein, fans thought they would coast the Highland League but unfortunately they have learned the hard way.

ffs just read the league tables and Cove look as if they are winning the SPFL Division 1 and 2 games to go and they play bottom and second bottom.

AND Obviously Kelty have won Divisions 2

The SFA and the SPFL need to take not as the cubs voting how many gets relegated is making Scottish Football a farce.  There are too many good teams now in the Lowland League, the West of Scotland and the East of Scotland league who could hold their own in División 1 and 2.  It should be sorted

When you think of it the embarrassing thing is, the team that finishes bottom of the Scottish leagues in División 2 is not relegated straight away, they are given a playoff,  what a  joke

You've got to feel for Renfrew and Port Glasgow who are waiting to see what Division they will be playing in next season.

Renfrew  might be in Division One or Two depending on whether the Premier Division gets promoted to the Lowland League. They've been waiting since the 26th March to find out and will have to continue waiting until 28th May when the play-offs are over.

Port Glasgow have been waiting even longer, since 5th March to find out if they're in Division Two or Three.

EDIT: Based on info from Wikipedia.

All very well, what about the teams in the Premier League to see who’s going down,to lose 7 teams out of 20,ridiculous,should never have happened, all in the one season

The clubs chose for that to happen. There was an option for 5 clubs relegated over two seasons, but the clubs voted by a sizeable margin to make it 7 down in one go.

Licensed Clubs receive a yearly payment from the SFA.

Plus appearance money for taking part in the Scottish Cup, even if they lose in the first Preliminary Round.

Clubs at tier 5 get £4,000 around xmas from the s f a for being licensed if the national does well you get a increased payment which varies.the most we received was £12.000. and its usually £600 for scottish cup appearance money if knocked out in the 1st round.

The vote was anonymous, but it would come as no surprise that the vote was for 7 teams down after one season and not five teams down over two seasons, given the disappointment from the Conference clubs about the Scottish FA insisting on there being a Premier Division in the first season in the first place. The Conference clubs massively outnumbered the Premier clubs in terms of voting on the matter.
