Dev
If you are willing to keep results going here that would be great. (Two threads if it gives more publicity to the amateurs)
Cyclizine
I'm calling a Groats v Stabs final at Harmsworth Park now (on or around 20th August)! Although Staxigoe will be a decent test for Groats and Pentland Utd have a tough draw. Good to see several island teams still in the mix and a guaranteed Western Isles club into the Quarter Finals. Third Round (Saturday 25th June) Avoch v Kirkwall Hotspurs Black Rock Rovers v Golspie Stafford Iochdar Saints v High Ormlie Hotspur IRN Security v Sleat & Strath Ness v Carloway Pentland Utd v Lairg Rovers Stromness Athletic v Wick Thistle Wick Groats v Staxigoe Utd Quarter Final (Saturday 16th July) Black Rock Rovers or Golspie Stafford v Iochdar Saints or High Ormlie Hotspur IRN Security or Sleat & Strath v Wick Groats or Staxigoe Utd Ness or Carloway v Avoch or Kirkwall Hotspurs Stromness Athletic or Wick Thistle v Pentland Utd or Lairg Rovers Semi Final (6th August) IRN Security or Sleat & Strath or Wick Groats or Staxigoe Utd v Black Rock Rovers or Golspie Stafford or Iochdar Saints or High Ormlie Hotspur Ness or Carloway or Avoch or Kirkwall Hotspurs v Stromness Athletic or Wick Thistle or Pentland Utd or Lairg Rovers Edited June 5, 2022 by Cyclizine
Marten
I haven't got any plans yet for the 25th, any recommendations of one of the 3rd round games to go to?
invergowrie arab
Ness v Carloway will be a great day at a great ground but obviously a challenge from Dundee - although they pretty much all are. If it has to be the mainland then Pentland ticks the box of a decent team, a league clash and a nice area to visit. If time and cash isn't an issue get to Fivepenny. They have ten pin bowling which is more than Dundee has.
welshbairn
Ness v Carloway definitely if the weather's good, bar opened at 2pm on Saturday for a 2.30 kick off but you can watch the game from the beer garden. They usually have a band on after the game, last bus back to Stornoway is 8.20 which allows for a decent sesh, but it keeps open till midnight minimum.
Cyclizine
Yeah, if you can get to Lewis, that's the best option and by far the best ground. It's unlikely any of the other games will be played on anything resembling an enclosed ground. Saying that, Coronation Park in Avoch is a decent "public park" venue. I wouldn't imagine any of the neutral venues will be anywhere particularly enticing, but never know. I'd probably be tempted to head up to Caithness for the weekend, Groats v Staxigoe a key game, or Dunnet for Pentland United. It's a great place to explore as well. AsimButtHitsASix
I went to Ness's ground last year (no game on, was just passing by and thought I'd have a swatch at it) looked a great place to watch a game of fitba. Will go back one day to watch a game and have a wee guga agus bovril at half time.

Cyclizine
Quarter Finals (Saturday 16th July) 1200 Stromness Athletic 3-5 Pentland Utd (Market Green) 1430 Ness 2-1 Avoch (Fivepenny) 1500 IRN Security 0-4 Wick Groats (Cromal Park) 1500 Golspie Stafford 3-3p High Ormlie Hotspur (Stafford Park) Semifinals (Saturday 6th August) TBC Ness v Pentland Utd (TBC) 1500 Wick Groats v High Ormlie Hotspur (Back Park) Final to be played Saturday 20th August, venue TBC Superb day for Caithness football and really, it could be anyone's cup. I'm still leaning towards a Groats/Stabs final and think Groats will just nick it, but would be pleased to see any of these in the final. Particularly good to see a Thurso team, even if it isn't Swifts and delighted for Ness as well.
welshbairn
A clue about where the Ness v Pentland is happening from Ness FC FB. Quote Ness FC will play Pentland United in the Semi Final of the Highland Amateur Cup on Saturday 6th August at a venue to be confirmed on the mainland. We would hope that as many fans as possible will go to support the boys. We have reserved spaces on the ferry that day for our fans and we are also running buses that day from Ness to Stornoway and Ullapool to Ross Shire/ Inverness.
