Harris beat United on Friday night and Maryburgh beat Culloden yesterday. Portree v Highland Hospice was postponed due to a funeral and is to be played next weekend. I thought that I should include the competition in the amateur section as I have done for the other district cup competitions plus the Ayrshire amateur cup. I am hoping that others with an interest will be willing to take on a competition or more next season, so would you be willing to continue with the Highland Amateur Cup this season? I would like to see more attention given to the Amateur game in general on P&B. Thinking of putting on a topic for the summer leagues - have gathered lists of teams for quite a few leagues so far. There was a report that the match had been switched to another ground as Benbecula was very unhappy with the state of the Eriskay ground the previous week. Eriskay's pitch can be challenged as to whether it satisfies the regulations of the Highland Amateur Cup. I remember Barra made them move a HACUP game a few seasons back because of that, although happy enough to play them there in the league. Re "some long journeys ahead" for R2. Neutral venues half-way may be used in some cases. We will see... Thanks for the effort to chase down results quicker than their official publication. I've previously done the HAC in the cup forum, so just did it in there. I don't think it really matters - HAC is summer football, so it's often the only thing going on in any of the competition forums anyway, one of the advantages of being up north is getting year round football! Would mean leaving about 15 minutes before the finish and not being able to check out the debauchery of the Social Club post match. At least Iochdar only have the short trip to Inverness instead of having to go all the way up to Watten. Here are some more of the venues for Saturday's games.
