101
Bizzare that the BBC coverage of the economic situation doesn't even mention Brexit.

The issues are possibly more nuanced and complex than many might think given inflation is 1% higher in the Eurozone than it is in the UK.

Yes, sorry I wasn't saying Brexit was the sole thing to blame (although we were promised lower energy bills) that said I think us hampering our own exports seems daft in the context of rising prices across the board.

They'll double down or at best ask someone to be the sacrificial lamb and go take up a high paid journalism/think tank offer. the idea of them genuinely looking after the working class is incredible Edited May 6, 2022 by parsforlife

You mean the shipments to Rwanda will begin? It will be lapped up despite it costing us fortunes in legal challenges let alone the transport and accommodation costs.

We would be flying them out on a 15-20 flights a week schedule on current numbers crossing the channel and neither the UK or Rwanda will be able to cope with a fraction of that. It's an abhorrent smokescreen

It's an abhorrent smokescreen Seen a few folk say that, but it's interesting that they feel a winning strategy is to announce something abhorrent, get blocked from doing it, then shrug and say, "oh well, we tried". I worry about their voters more than the politicians themselves. Some of them would likely agree in private that it's a morally disgusting idea, but will support it in public as it's a vote winner where it counts.
Suspect Device
Cost of living crisis hits some more than others. Wonder if there are many central London bars where you can get a pint for £3.30. Draught Beers (parliament.uk)

Many places won't even allow alcohol on the premises.

Yeah, lowering inhibitions in a workplace absolutely filled with sexual deviants doesn't seem very wise. But then, what do we know, being the scum that we are.

It would explain a lot. You can't imagine them voting some of the Tory policies through if they were sober.
