That rule only covers incidents where players are making an attempt to play the ball. In a parallel universe where the ball wasn't about 20 feet above Morelos' head and there actually was a proper tug back from the defender, that would have been a red card.

Exactly this why the rule needs to be comprehensively changed …….if a correct application of rules awarded a pen and a red card for that with the ball sailing over Morelos’ head then the rules are clearly ridiculous.

As I said would there be any chance of Madden awarding a pen to Dundee for the same incident in front of the baying Gers fans.

People might not like it, but direct action against bad boardroom decisions is actually good and Scottish football would be in a better place if more clubs did it.

Direct action should mean actual points deduction for this pish, not letting both Celtic and Rangers disrupt matches wanton.

What is the point of that?

The Union Bears and the Green Brigade think they are more important than the actual clubs and are needy wee arseholes who just want to spout hatred and know they can get away with it in football grounds.

I'm not sure you read my post properly. It wasn't a red card because it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity, because the ball was in the upper stratosphere at the time. If the ball had been at a height where Morelos might have been able to get on the end of it (and it had actually been a foul), that would have made it a red card.
