CaspianChris
So the first club of this save is English League 2 side Rochdale. Going into Season 2021/22 the media prediction is for a 14th place finish.

CaspianChris
As things stand I am inclined to go with the squad as it is and keep the transfer budget for the January window incase its needed then. Also allows a little more time to assess the squad fully.

CaspianChris
SKY BET LEAGUE 2 GAME 1 - 07/08/21 HARROGATE 3 ROCHADALE 2 A disappointing start to the season at Harrogate who pick up a very deserved victory in this game. The home side were the better throughout the 90 minutes and could have scored a few more. Although only 1 down at ht ot was a poor first half by Rochdale and although the second half was an improvement the performance overall did not merit anything on the day. On to the Carabao Cup game away to Barrow next and hopefully a positive result after this disappointing start.
CaspianChris
MATCH PREVIEW - CARABOA CUP R1 BARROW - THE DUNES HOTEL STADIUM - 11/08/21 Barrow go into this afther a narrow opening window away to Stevenage by a 1-0 scoreline although they did ride their luck at times. This will give them the belief that the can make it back to back wins to start this season in this home cup tie. Rochdale make the trip to Barrow looking to improve on the disappointing loss at Harrogate on the opening game of the season. However this is a winnable tie for The Dale away from home or not although an improved performance is needed to get that win. A tight cup tie is predicted for this one. CaspianChris
CARABAO CUP R1 - 11/08/21 BARROW 1 ROCHDALE 1 ROCHDALE WIN 5-4 ON PENALTIES This was a goid away performance by Rochdale and one that should have seen a win in 90 minutes. The Dale created plenty of chances and could have scored several on the night but frustratingly only managed the one but they did have a second chopped off a few minutes after taking the lead. Barrow never laid down and created opportunities of their own but they never overly troubled the keeper and it was annoying to concede to one of the few chances on target they had. Thankfully composure was shown to triumph on penalties. Next up is the home league game against Scunthorpe. CaspianChris
CARABAO CUP R2 DRAW Crewe at the Crown Oil Stadium on the 24th August is the draw received. Not a glamour or money making tie but it does give a pretty good chance of getting to R3.

CaspianChris
My personal preference is to do each update at the time as I would be more likely to miss something out potentially by not doing it on each individual match, transfer etc Depends on how much is done a day as well but I find it works well for me doing it like that though. It was something I had thought about before each save and tried experimenting on a way that suits me best. 21 minutes ago, AsimButtHitsASix said: I genuinely don't understand how you can update these threads so often and still find time to play the game
CaspianChris
SKY BET LEAGUE 2 GAME 2 - 14/08/21 ROCHDALE 4 SCUNTHORPE UNITED 2 A very entertaining game was enjoyed at Crown Oil Stadium as Rochdale mounted a fantastic comeback from two down to earn maximum points. Scunthorpe and the travelling fans found themselves in dreamland after taking an early two goal lead buy although Rochdale reduced that lead by one immediately after going two down the visitors went into the break 2-1 ahead. The second half saw a fantastic three goal comeback to win all three points starting with a very early equaliser and in truth Rochdale were the better side as the game went on and deservedly took the points although Scunthorpe made the better start. A tough game at home in midweek is next as Rochdale play host to Forest Green Rovers.

CaspianChris
SKY BET LEAGUE GAME 3 - 17/08/21 ROCHDALE 0 FOREST GREEN ROVERS 1 Rochdale suffered a disappointing home loss to a very decent Forest green side in this encounter in a game where the visitors should have won more comfortably. The away side were always more comfortable on the ball and created a number of good chances throughout and but for some decent goalkeeping and wasteful finishing would have been more easy winners. For all that Rochdale created openings few were of any serious challenge for the Forest Green keeper to deal with on a disappointing day. An improvement in performance away to Northampton next time outis required.
