Cove vs Clyde

Recommended Posts

Cove take on the draw specialists, as of late, in Clyde at Balmoral on Saturday. The Bully Wee have shown strong resilience in the last couple of months and proven a difficult team to beat.

Only 1 defeat in 9 with 7 of those being draws. This run of form has surely secured their L1 status and keeps them hot on the heels of Falkirk in 5th. Last 3 games undefeated against the likes of Mo (a), Airdrie (a) and Falkirk (h) is very credible.

Lewis Jamieson and Nick McAllister are strong additions in the latest transfer window.

Cove are unbeaten in 18 games going into this match but after 4 draws in the last 5 got back to form with a 5-2 win against Peterhead last week. I expect Ryan Strachan to miss out again and who knows where Shay Logan is or how close to a return he is; might show up and surprise us all.

Mitch and Rory looked very sharp last week and Harry Milne was unplayable down the left.

Our last home game for 4 weeks so 3 points is a must.

Predicted lineup below.

McAllister and Cunningham both came off with injuries last week so any small chance we have of taking something will rest on their availability. Not expecting anything here so if we can end the afternoon still with a decent cushion over 9th then that'll do me.

Broken collarbone. Horrendous news for us.

Cove going well and scoring 5 last week doesn’t fill me with confidence for our chances. No Cunningham either is a blow.

Ross Cunningham has impressed when I've seen him. Good pace, direct and a goalscorer.

Will Clyde start with Jamieson and Rob Jones up top?

Shay Logan makes the squad for today after being out for 2 months. Fully expect him to start.

Ryan Strachan confirmed as our only injury for today.

Any update on his claim of being racially abused at the last game at Broadwood?

Clyde have said nothing since the day in question.

Either that or Jamieson and Ally Love with Docherty coming in at LB and Livingstone moving forward

Definitely got a bit lucky with them hitting the woodwork three times before scoring, a strange game for us to play wide open at the back. Livingstone and Cuddihy have been awful and pushing high with those centre halves is stupid.

As much as it looked it I am not convinced the red card was correct given the new sleeve line rule. We deserve a goal though. Going to be a tough second half.
