Lurkst
A poser raised by Tam Cowan of all people on Off The Ball yesterday. How many Scottish senior clubs have never featured in a live televised game?
Jacksgranda
The vast majority of teams in the Highland, Lowland, Caledonian, EoS, Wos, Sos, Midlands and North Juniors Leagues I would imagine. Probably some in the SPFL, too.

morrison
Couple of threads a few pages in cover it, I think: Last post in both are about two years old so could be others who've been on tele since, or at least have been more recently.

craigkillie
There are a lot of opportunities for clubs to appear live nowadays, between the League Cup (with lots of group stage matches televised), Scottish Cup (including a game a round before the "big boys enter), the SPFL play-offs, the Championship TV deal with the BBC and previously the old BBC Alba deal which showed the occasional lower league game. All of the 42 current SPFL clubs have been on live, and probably a larger chunk than you'd think from below that will have been too. With Rangers climbing the leagues i think that pretty much covered every team apart from Kelty and Cove who have both been on either Premier Sports or Alba in the last 2 years.

Lurkst
Yes probably a better question would be how many Scottish senior clubs have never featured in a live televised game other than against Celtic or Rangers?
craigkillie
Every single club in the Premiership and Championship definitely has, and of the list in this (now out of date) post of the most recent TV appearances for each club, only 8 featured Rangers or Celtic. On 20/02/2020 at 13:59, craigkillie said: For clubs outside the top 2 tiers, these are the last TV appearances from most recent to oldest 14/02/2020 - Partick Thistle v Raith Rovers (Challenge Cup, BBC Alba) 09/02/2020 - Clyde v Celtic (Scottish Cup, Premier Sports) 08/02/2020 - Falkirk v Heart of Midlothian (Scottish Cup, BBC Scotland) 17/01/2020 - Rangers v Stranraer (Scottish Cup, Premier Sports) 15/11/2019 - Raith Rovers v Elgin City (Challenge Cup, BBC Alba) 11/10/2019 - Stenhousemuir v Waterford (Challenge Cup, BBC Alba) 07/09/2019 - Connah's Quay Nomads v Cove Rangers (Challenge Cup, S4C) 18/08/2019 - East Fife v Rangers (League Cup, BT Sport) 13/04/2019 - Airdrieonians v Stenhousemuir (League One, BBC Alba) 16/02/2019 - Connah's Quay Nomads v Edinburgh City (Challenge Cup, S4C) 30/01/2019 - Cowdenbeath v Rangers (Scottish Cup, Premier Sports) 16/11/2018 - Queen's Park v Connah's Quay Nomads (Challenge Cup, BBC Alba) 13/05/2018 - Dumbarton v Alloa Athletic (Championship Playoffs, BBC Alba) 20/05/2017 - Alloa Athletic v Brechin City (Championship Playoffs, BBC Alba) 22/01/2017 - Albion Rovers v Celtic (Scottish Cup, Sky Sports) 15/10/2016 - Airdrieonians v Peterhead (League One, BBC Alba) 02/08/2016 - Celtic U20 v Annan Athletic (Challenge Cup, Premier Sports) 20/02/2016 - Ayr United v Forfar Athletic (League One, BBC Alba) 30/03/2013 - Montrose v Rangers (Division Three, Sky Sports) 23/03/2013 - Rangers v Stirling Albion (Division Three, Sky Sports) A quick search found the following five games: Clyde v Motherwell (League Cup, 2018) Stranraer v Morton (League 1, 2015) Cowdenbeath v Dunfermline (Championship play-offs, 2014) Brechin City v East Fife (League 1, 2016) Raith Rovers v Annan Athletic (Challenge Cup, 2013). Therefore of the SPFL clubs, excluding games against the Old Firm only possibly rules out Albion Rovers, Montrose and Stirling Albion, and of the non-SPFL clubs I can only think of East Kilbride, Fraserburgh, Berwick, East Stirlingshire and Brechin who have been shown on TV against either of them. Of those, Brechin have been on TV several times against other clubs (eg their fateful Championship play-off final v Alloa in 2017) and Berwick were on v Gretna earlier this year. No idea about East Kilbride, Fraserburgh or East Stirlingshire.
craigkillie
Since I've started, here's a list of non-league clubs who I have confirmed TV appearances for. There will definitely be others, because there will have been many more Junior Cup finals televised, I only listed the ones I know for sure were on TV. As posted elsewhere, there were also Highland League Cup finals (and maybe occasionally Highland League games?) shown on Grampian too. Maybe others can add confirmed matches to this thread. Highland League Buckie Thistle (v Bonnyrigg, Scottish Cup, 2019) Brechin City (v Darvel, Scottish Cup, 2021) Fraserburgh (v Rangers, Scottish Cup, 2018) Turriff United (v Hibernian, Challenge Cup, 2016) Lowland League Berwick Rangers (v Gretna, Scottish Cup, 2021) Bo'ness United (v Baillieston, Junior Cup, 1984) Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic (v Dundee, Scottish Cup, 2021) BSC Glasgow (v Hibs, Scottish Cup, 2020) East Kilbride (v Celtic, Scottish Cup, 2016) East Stirlingshire (v Rangers, League Cup, 2016) Gretna 2008 (v Berwick, Scottish Cup, 2021) Midland League Carnoustie (v Tayport, Junior Cup, 2005) Lochee United (v Tayport, Junior Cup, 2005) Tayport (v Lochee United, Junior Cup, 2005) East of Scotland League Camelon (v Whitburn, Junior Cup, 1995) Dundonald Bluebell (v Queen's Park, Scottish Cup, 2020) Hill of Beath Hawthorn (v Lesmahagow, Junior Cup, 1990) Linlithgow Rose (v Falkirk, Scottish Cup, 2019) Musselburgh Athletic (v Auchinleck Talbot, Junior Cup, 2015) Whitburn (v Camelon, Junior Cup, 1995) West of Scotland League Arthurlie (v Pollok, Junior Cup, 1981) Auchinleck Talbot (v Hearts, Scottish Cup, 2022) Beith Juniors (v Pollok, Junior Cup, 2016) Blantyre Vics (v Baillieston, Junior Cup, 1982) Clydebank (v Elgin City, Scottish Cup, 2021) Darvel (v Brechin, Scottish Cup, 2021) Glenafton Athletic (v Hurlford, Junior Cup, 2014) Hurlford (v Glenafton, Junior Cup, 2014) Kilbirnie Ladeside (v Rob Roy, Junior Cup, 1977) Kilwinning Rangers (v Kelty, Junior Cup, 1999) Kirkintilloch Rob Roy (v Kilbirnie, Junior Cup, 1977) Largs Thistle (v Auchinleck Talbot, Junior Cup, 2019) Lesmahagow (v Hill of Beath, Junior Cup 1990) Pollok (v Beith, Junior Cup, 2016) Shotts Bon Accord (v Auchinleck Talbot, Junior Cup, 2011) Edited June 13, 2022 by craigkillie
tamthebam
Edinburgh City were live twice in their Challenge Cup run: A Friday night on Alba against Arbroath at Gayfield and Saturday night against Clugger's Quay Gonads (b*****ds) in the Semi Final on Welsh telly. There was a Cable TV company in Aberdeen in the early 1990s who covered the local Juniors- I don't know if they did live games though.
Ray Patterson
Would add Midlands League sides Tayport and Lochee United on STV in the Junior Cup final in 2005. The last live domestic game to be shown on STV.
HibeeJibee
Spartans v Livingston televised IIRC.

craigkillie
I've added a few more Junior Cup finals that I found via YouTube. It's not entirely clear whether they were on every single year, I think they probably were in the 80s and 90s but haven't confirmed it.
invergowrie arab
I'm (almost) certain Ross County v Fraserburgh and one or both of the Huntly v Cove and Huntly v Fraserburgh Highland League Cup Finals was live on Grampian in the mid 90s but can't find anything to confirm it. There was also the qualifying cup which might be playing tricks with my memory too. In summary this post is worthless.
German Jag
Kilbirnie Ladeside against Rob Roy in 1977 was televised. First to be so according to here.
