Is that correct?

Some relegated clubs e.g. from the SPFL are able to nominate the league which they wish to enter. Albeit doesn't the Lowland or Highland League have some sort of right of appeal if they don't like the decision? Doesn't that apply to Lowland League clubs too when they are relegated?

Unfortunately not, the leagues decide before the season starts.

Has anyone seen an official statement anywhere that confirms that Gretna go to the SoS despite being an EoSFA member if Fraserburgh win the Club 42 playoff game and Bonnyrigg Rose and Cowdenbeath both have to be accomodated in the LL next season?

I think we are working on the assumption that nothing has changed since the last time someone (FWF?) on here contacted the league secretary. Feel free to get in touch again via the league's website and see what they say.

I asked the same question in regard to VOL and Gretna relegation, would be better if they went to SOS but I got rebuked for asking that in this thread a few days ago

I assumed, too, that Gretna would go to the SoS, or even the WoS, at relegation from the LL but they are listed as current members of the East of Scotland FA so, maybe, they would end up in the EoS.

This is what Wiki are saying. Gretna if relegated to SOS, VOL to Eos

You sure you've got enough tabs open there?

I mean anyone can edit the wiki, but it matches what the league secretary said a couple of years ago when someone on the forum emailed the league. And Gretna would surely find it much harder in the EOS than before they joined the LL, plus there would be more travel into Fife.

Why would vale go to the SoS? They've never played in it before and geographically it wouldn't make sense.

That goes for gretna as well. clubs should go to league of origin gretna have never played in the south of scotland league.unless thats changed?

That's why it would be good to see something official on a league website confirming what happens in their case given the implications it potentially has for clubs in the EoS premier relegation zone.

There's never been a boundary for relegation from the Lowland League. It gets decided amongst the 4 leagues at the start of the season. There's not been any rule change on that front. Only the SPFL Playoff changed recently.

There's really only an agreement between the WoS/EoS on how they handle things.

Gretna 2008 & VoL have been rooted to the bottom of the LL for almost the entire season. It's really strange that several of the in the know EoS posters aren't in a blind panic over a 6th relegation to accomodate Gretna 2008.

A change on that would fit with what the SFA wanted on the Club 42 playoff rule and with how the HL handles that issue.

The other two montrose and arbroath have already nominated the highland league as their choice.the highland league dont have straight relegation fort william will play banks o dee in a play off.the lowland league is the only league which has the bottom club relegated.vale was saved last time because the west declared their season null and void.

The HL still allows their clubs to choose which feeder they drop into if they lose the playoff game though. Not sure this qualifies as blind panic but it was my dear friend from Blackburn that got me interested in this obscure topic with this recent post:

So, will Rose/Tranent/Penicuik beat Talbot/Darvel in the play-off?

If they don't, then 5 go down.

It could get worse if Gretna drop to the EoS (do they, or is it SoS?) in the event of Fraserburgh/Buckie winning the play-offs.

Not true!! the relegated had to go back to their league of origin. thats why EK. if ever relegated would go to the south thats where they started but never actually played a game as they joined the LL a fews weeks later. the boundary has been abolished so it'll be agreed by the eos and the sos.said earlier gretna want to go to the eos.

Gretna 2008 are still classed as South of Scotland club on relegation from the Lowland League. All the leagues have contact information if you bother to ask a simple question.

No!!! all clubs were asked at the start of this season what would there preference would be if relegated from the lowland league gretna stated the east of scotland.played them a month ago stuart rome said they dont wish to go to the south, now the boundary has disappeared this allows this to happen.
