Correct, and an uncontrolled tackle is such, is it not?

it’ll be a fiasco regardless, it’s the Rovers way. Probably wind up with Connolly at wingback!

No. An uncontrolled tackle is serious foul play. But the punishment is the same as for violent conduct.

SERIOUS FOUL PLAY
A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.
Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

VIOLENT CONDUCT
Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.
In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.

Best Airdrie pubs?

You will get into no pubs in Airdrie. They are all ticketed with door stewards.

It's a pity Silky Hetherston doesn't still have his boozer in Coatbridge.

Have you checked this out ?

Heard of a couple being regulars only/ ticketed, but theres a fair old number of pubs, worst case would think the ones without Sky would be alright.

Don't know if they will be... you might have a bit of luck getting in to Cue Here or the West End Bar.

There is a good pub about a twenty minute walk from the ground and there is also a really nice and friendly Masonic Lodge next to it, non members allowed in the bar. It's cheaper than the pubs.

.

Bump! From page 1.

A Masonic Lodge in Airdrie?🤔 Well fancy that!🤫🤝

A good clipping of interviews with members of the 2014 team up from Raith TV.

That John Baird interview was really excellent.

Is that the one where, in the euphoria of having just beaten Rangers, he says he wished he played for them?

No ticket sales on the day. Extract from QoS news item.
Ticket Sales
Queen of the South have sold roughly 1,600 tickets and will occupy the West (Main) Stand. Raith Rovers have sold roughly 2,300 tickets and will occupy the East Stand. Neither stand behind a goal will be open on the day.
The League have confirmed there is no facility to sell tickets at the stadium on the day.
Large Flags
As neither stand behind the goal will be open it has been agreed that supporters may bring large flags and lay them behind one of the goals. Queen of the South fans can arrange for flags to be laid behind the North Stand goal. Stewards will be aware and will accommodate requests to place flags.

Anyone know the best public transport route to the stadium?

If you’re in Kirkcaldy, probably best to get the train to Haymarket then change there for the train going to Helensburgh which stops in Airdrie. Drumgelloch station looks a bit closer and it might be a marginally cheaper fare.
You can use the National Rail Enquiries planner to check times and prices. Sometimes buying two separate tickets works out cheaper - like Kirkcaldy to Haymarket, then Haymarket to Drumgelloch.

Celtic fan John baird?

That's him.

Can't get enough of the OF, which is what he said in the interview.

To be fair, if you are a footballer, they are the only two clubs in Scotland who pay well, win lots and can compete in Europe. Why wouldn’t you want to play for them?
