This happened briefly in England during spring 1936, courtesy a dispute between the Football League and pools companies over copyright licence fees. I'd understood they announced who'd be at home, but not who they'd be playing, so it would be impossible to issue coupons and pick matches. However it seems what they actually did was only announce the fixtures on the Thursday or Friday - including whether you were home or away. http://www.thearsenalhistory.com/?p=8335 https://www.pressreader.com/uk/derby-telegraph/20190225/282694753445090 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/apr/08/the-joy-of-six-bad-ideas-in-football https://jimbrownsjournal.blogspot.com/2020/05/jims-column-3052020.html https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=DFIgK11WzG8C&pg=PA33&lpg=PA33&dq=1936+football+league+pools&source=bl&ots=YWaCUxIMUT&sig=ACfU3U1U9qACS7Mshsj_CEh2lTpagExJwQ&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj2_KuWiID2AhWWgVwKHeVeBd4Q6AF6BAhAEAM#v=onepage&q=1936 football league pools&f=false
