Good luck to Jim (except against us obviously) - be interesting to see how he does. To be honest St Mirren were pretty chronic in the first half of the season and you have to wonder would Aberdeen have appointed him if St Mirren were in the bottom two or three as looked likely before the Jan window ? We have now stumbled on a system that suits the players and gone on a run but JG’s persistence with the 3 at the back system was worrying when everyone could see it wasn’t working bar him.

Where is Ric telling us all through his tears and snotters that Goodwin is breaking the law going to Aberdeen?

I'm awaiting him saying that Goodwin is basically the Boston strangler by going here and Aberdeen are enablers.

Wait, did Aberdeen just appoint a manager who's won 4 out of his last 16 league matches?

A guy who has never finished Top 6?

And a guy that has an eye for some of the worst strikers to every grace the Scottish game?  He signed Curtis Main after two fair warnings for f**k sake!

Sounds like another manager we could have approached...

Well, now that he's appointed I'll have to back him, but I feel a bit like I felt when Glass was appointed - not confident this will work out well.

Do you think that your backing for Jim Goodwin will last longer than your backing for Stephen Glass?

Much happier with this appointment than with Glass, it at least feels like a recruitment process was followed as opposed to knowing Glass was the new manager as soon as McInnes was sacked.

Ultimately our defence is the big issue that needs sorted out by Goodwin. If he can stop us losing very cheap goals, he'll likely have us upwardly mobile relatively quickly.

Obviously, like Glass last year, the rest of the season will be viewed as a free hit and he will be judged after the summer transfer window.

Goodwin is a draw specialist and Cowboy McCormack is trigger happy where could it go wrong.

John McCormack has no authority for Aberdeen m8. He's been out the professional game for years.

Well for starters, Jim Goodwin has a CV
