Germany are providing Flugabwehrkanonenpanzer systems to Ukraine.

The most German names thing ever.

Fun fact, "Flak" comes from the abreviation of the German word for anti-aircraft gun Fliegerabwehrkanone

Russia starting off by cutting off gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland is huge, there's no way back. Bulgaria are close to securing a supply from Azerbaijan via Greece, why would they go back to relying on a dodgy supply from Russia after this is all over, without a massive discount? And late spring to pull off this stunt is worthy of Arthur Scargill's tactics against Thatcher.

Didn't stop the BBC lazily reporting them as 'tanks', which is something that every tank nerd on the planet is sick of seeing over the past couple of months.

Literally anything military with caterpillar tracks is reported as a 'tank'.

I haven't seen this, but Panzer is the German word for tank.

The Flugabwehrkanonenpanzer Gepard in question here is very much a tank.

No it isn't.

Germany has always used 'Panzer' in the naming of anything mounted on an actual tank chassis, simply because that's how the German language works with regard to using the literal description to name new inventions, but the Gepards don't fulfil the function of actual tanks, and no military would list them in inventory as tanks. Just because something is on a tank hull, it doesn't mean it's actually a tank.

If the German's wish to call it a tank, and it looks like a tank, then it's a tank.

Germany doesn't call the Gepard a 'tank', consider it a 'tank, nor does it look like a 'tank', but if you are insistent you know better, on you go.

It's name quite literally contains the German word for tank.

I'm reading India have doubled their oil intake from Russia, taking full advantage of it's low price.  This is then getting them into bother with the west.  However, this sums it up nicely...

Quote

The Indian government has defended the move to buy Russian oil, and said what it buys from Russia in a month is less than what Europe buys from Russia in an afternoon.

That's going to sting.
