Biden’s advisers need to reign him in a bit.  Still struggling to believe that the Democrats couldn’t find a better option as a Presidential candidate.

There were undoubtedly better / brighter / less doddery options as candidate, however unless they are a white man with many rich friends donating to the cause, then they dont even reach the long list.

I realise this is slightly unfair as there are female / black / hispanic people in positions of power in US politics -  but if they had placed Harris (for example) against Trump, they would have lost as she was the wrong gender and colour.

Also the Dems need to get the Black vote out in as much number as possible, so when Biden pissed the SC primary - he took 48% to Bernie’s 19, with Tom Steyer (remember him) at 11 and FBI Petey at 8 - it was a done deal at that point, given they were never gonna nominate Sanders.

Still think they could have found a better white man.  Maybe even a better old white man with rich friends.

Yeah, okay Granny, enough fishing for compliments. We all think you could do a better job than Biden. Happy now?

Right at the end of the BBC's Dateline London, one of the contributors mentioned that China had an agreement with Ukraine which from her short statement SEEMED to suggest that China would protect Ukraine in the event that nuclear weapons were used against it.

I'm having trouble pinning down an explicit reference to it.  A couple of vague descriptions only. Anyone else know any detail? No wonder China has seemed a bit nervous over Russia's action.  I'm pretty dubious that China would nuke Russia if Russia used a battlefield nuke in Ukraine.

Under a 2013 pact, China pledged unconditionally not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against a nuclear-free Ukraine.

Beijing also pledged to provide Kyiv nuclear security guarantee when Ukraine encounters an invasion involving nuclear weapons or Ukraine is under threat of a nuclear invasion.

The pact was signed by then Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on December 5 that 2013.

The agreement also declared Kyiv and Beijing as strategic partners.

Well, he's their elected president whether you like him or not.

Fo me, Biden stated the blindingly obvious.    Putin has pursued naked aggression against a neighbouring state, without the remotest

reality of provocation.  Whatever the outcome of the assault on Ukraine, there is zero likelihood of anything approximating to functional

normality in relations with Russia while Putin is in charge.

If he was just stating the blindingly obvious then why was his Secretary of State and just about every Western government official today disavowing his comments? He wasn't just discussing 'normality' - he was discussing regime change of the world's second nuclear power.

For America to end up with another senile clown in charge after Reagan is not a good look for representative democracy.

After what happened to Gaddafi no leader is ever going to do anything other fight 100% against American aggression. For Putin that means potentially nuclear weapons. Biden saying that is totally irresponsible.

The video going around today of the Russian POWs being shot in the legs and beaten by fascists is extremely grim. Utter madness for Ukranians to be putting that out when they have thousands of troops encircled in Donbass.
