Everybody's Cup of T: the Lowland League Cup 2021-22

Tough to believe it was March in Scotland at Peffermill today. Really enjoyable match between two teams who knocked the ball about on the deck and played the game in a great competitive spirit at a good tempo. Very impressed with Edinburgh University; every player comfortable on the ball and some of the interchange was fantastic to see for a team towards the bottom of the table. Crowd was around 60-70.

Dead-heat means in accordance with LL Cup Rule 3's concluding clauses Gala and Vale will now have to playoff at a neutral venue for a place in QFs.

Gentlemen we have reached Peak Vale 😆...

Whose idea was it to not have a penalty shootout after a draw...?

It's all in for the 8 teams . There was no advantage in finishing top in the group stage.

Interesting... QF draw was apparently seeded in 2014-15 (last times groups were used).

If an open draw then I rescind my previous comment as premature extrapolation. Peak Vale would be playing a group of Gala, Berwick, Vale... needing a Gala v Vale playoff... winning it... then drawing Berwick!

Good bunch of teams still in it. All 8 will be thinking they have a decent chance of winning it.

Think we have a genuine chance of winning this. Between us, EK and Berwick I reckon. But as you say, any of the 8 could.

Any idea when the quarter final draw is and what dates the games will be held?

Given the quarter finals are on Saturday week I would have expected it to have taken place by now, but there has been radio silence from the league.

Shire have just tweeted that we have been drawn against Caledonian Braves next Friday. The winner to play Edinburgh Uni or Bo'ness (who played each other in the group stage).

The other half of the draw is East Kilbride v Berwick and Gala v Broomhill.

QF 22/23 April; SF 7 May; Final 15 May
