CaspianChris Posted February 8, 2022 Share Posted February 8, 2022 Having found a good db for the pyramid setup in Scotland I have decided to do this save as its something different. The plan is to take a pyramid based team from their current starting league into SPFL League 2 before moving onto a new club. However various cup competition is highly desired as well. I have chosen my first club and it is a very close when to where I live. Broughty Athetic is the club. Junior Scottish Cup Inter Regional Cup So no reason not to do very well in all. There is work to do in adding to the playing squad and the backroom staff needs built up from scratch. There was a few trialists involved and a decision on their futures will be decided on soon. However at least one is unlikely to sign due to wage demands although things can change. CaspianChris Posted February 9, 2022 Author Share Posted February 9, 2022 Given the tiny budget work in the transfer market is going to be interesting and no doubt there is the risk of signing targets being snapped up by clubs elsewhere. However Ross Lydeb who is also a midfielder and had scored in a couple of games as trialist has been offered a deal so hoping he signs . Positive is that a lot of chances was made and pretty much total control of possession. However the inability to capitalise on that and kill the game off leads to frustration a conceding an unlikely equaliser lats on. Lesson are hopefully learnt after that One last friendly to come and that is away to Bellshill. Broughty received a bye into this round but now face what looks to be a tough but very good game in R2. CaspianChris Posted February 10, 2022 Author Share Posted February 10, 2022 The opening opening day of the Midlands League results in a very convincing home win over Downfield. 3 goals should have been a lot more and defensively very comfortable limiting them to only a handful of chances. Defensively very comfortable but conceding a very rare chance that comes the way of Letham is very frustrating and annoying. It was used to get some new signings some game time with the club.
