“First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.”

It's 9 subs too.

Clubs may need to bring back loan players to fill the bench and their development will be hindered.

The timing is not good as the clubs have only a few days to bring in replacements or reinforcements.

The main beneficiary in the Championship will be Kilmarnock who are splashing the cash in this window.

Do you mean it is a requirement that teams must have nine subs on the bench, or just that they can if they wish? Would imagine it's the latter.

Well they don't really. They've also extended the domestic loan window for the lower divisions to 28th February instead of 31st January. Which in turn means there's far less panic this week and I'd imagine Premier League clubs are going to be less likely to let players out on loan this week when they don't actually have to. May as well keep them 3 or 4 weeks longer in case somebody gets injured, or they force their way back into the squad. Not helpful for those of us trying to recruit domestic loans.

All that really has to be done by Monday night now is cross border stuff.

It was in response to the point above.

In any event, whether you like it or not, when you are trying to loan players in you cant force it to happen. It happens when tbe lending club want it to. Given the opportunity to keep players an extra month most probably will unfortunately.

You could give us a squad of 40 players with 20 sub allowance and you'd be lucky if AJ made even one sub. Even if we were 3-0 down.

The arsehole.

I thought of AJ as soon as I saw the thread title.

Let fans sub managers.
