In that case, and I confess I didn't fully understand the rules, I can see why they stuck with the onfield call. He is clearly catching that ball regardless, the ground doesn't help him.

Yeah, like Todd said, if they rule that incomplete initially then it probably stays incomplete after the review, I just thought that in this case there was enough to overturn it considering there was a clear mark on the turf showing the ball was dragged along it and not just 'scooped'.

I still hate the new player numbers. WR wearing 1? Nonsense.

Unless i've got this mixed up, WRs could always wear 1 (providing 80-89 were filled - not difficult in training camp). It's RBs and DBs wearing single digits that is both new and weird.

Really? It just looks really, really wrong to me. May have misremembered.

Yup. WR's could always wear any number from 1-19.

Linebackers wearing single digits is getting right on my tits, but then I'm of the opinion DL's should still be able to wear 60's and 70's

Yeah, WRs could always wear 1-19 & 80-89

They can now wear 1-49 as well as 80-89. A WR wearing 37, for example, would look very, very weird.

It's unlikely as well, though, as WRs tend not to wear daft numbers in college, which is where these unorthodox jersey numbers are coming from.

More fucking stupidity.

If you know you are going for it on 4th and 1 regardless, you chuck it on 3rd down you don't run a QB option.

Definitely not. If you have two goes from 3rd and 1 you run two FB Dives.

Or, if you have Derrick Henry, you run two HB Dives.

Seen a lot recently of over thinking. Just play the percentage and get the yard.

Similarly, don't take a point off the board in the first quarter when it puts you in the lead.

No, you should be throwing on 3rd.

It's essentially a free shot down the field because you should be absolutely confident of converting 4th and 1 with a simple play like a sneak or dive, so you take the free opportunity at extra yardage, and by chucking it you stay out of the stupid scenario Tenn got themselves into of being stopped in the backfield and making your 4th down longer than it needed to be.

Chase is great and all, but this is Cinci's off-season neglect of the OL being laid bare. It was just as bad last season and it nearly got Burrow killed. They need to sort this pronto to stop JB going the way of David Carr and Andrew Luck

This is the type of over analysing i'm talking about. Unless you are taking a shot at the end zone, forget about the extra yards you might get by passing - Two gut runs will almost certainly pick up the 1 yard you need, you move the chains, and you reset.
