Rovers v Arbroath

Completely deserved result. Unacceptable.

We need to be looking to put a few goals in against Banks O'Dee next week to try and improve our confidence. Our chances of winning the title are hanging by a shoestring and it's a miracle we've kept it so close until today.

Agreed. We need to use next week as a reset. We've got no divine right to win that game, of course, but we should expect to have most of the ball. We need to get out there and start creating chances again. Need to try and get some muscle memory back for things like 'crosses' and 'shots'.

Outfought, outmuscled and outplayed all over the park today.

Arbroath the better side by a mile.

Stupid challenge by Tumilty for the penalty. He's directly cost us at least half a dozen goals this season.

Oh well, seaside league forum for me tonight for a bit of cheer on the Falkirk and East Fife threads.

Thank f**k that was on hesgoal. Would have been fucking raging if I'd paid £14. Still raging about that fucking inept performance though. Absolutely brutal. Offered nothing going forward.

Well done smokies. Totally deserved victory today and I hope you go on and win the title. Completely bossed the midfield and Low was clear MOTM.

Our form has nosedived and we look totally lost up front. Zero goal threat and Dick and Tumility don’t give any attacking width, with the former looking very out his depth. Unfortunately the likes of Varian, Poplatnick and Zanatta are unlikely to come on and change anything.

We’ll be fortunate to stay in the playoffs at this rate.

That’s the worst performance of the season from us, probably quite a few seasons. Absolutely dreadful in pretty much every way.

Title challenge unquestionably over. You’d assume we’ll turn a bit of a corner eventually but top 4 even feels a long way off right now.

Where has it come from? Tumilty, Zanatta and Connolly shells of the players they were in the first half of the season. Liam Dick looks like he’s won a contest. And although Varian certainly has games where he’s rubbish, without him today we managed to be even less of a threat than usual up front.

Where do we go from here? Genuinely hard to know. And I don’t think John McGlynn really has much idea either, players who have shown they’re good enough are suddenly letting him down.

Totally deserved by Arbroath. Contested and won almost everything. Defensively excellent. Were unlucky to be a goal down at HT.

We are so ponderous it's untrue. Didn't show any urgency at all until we were losing. This is a proper slump now.

Well done to Arbroath. Fully deserved their win today. They've had a few enforced changes but kept it very tight and waited.

We were absolutely rotten. Zero creativity and once again we passed it side to side, inviting a high press before either launching it long to a solitary Gullan or stupidly failing to retain it when it goes out for a throw.

It's probably unfair to single him out, but we've been rotten since Benedictus came back into the team after Partick. Tumilty has been poor in recent weeks too and it was a daft tackle for the penalty.

A completely substandard performance.

Low versus Williamson verdict: Williamson played very well and was probably Rovers’ best player but Nicky ran the show. What a great wee player.

Yeah and you can tell he wasn’t at his fittest either

Smartest player on the park

Well, hitting 41 points probably makes us safe from relegation.  We were definitely the better side - a solid professional showing and real determination to win the individual battles.  Might have struggled with all our key scorers out but Nicky Low's return was influential.   Not sure why Raith have gone off the boil since they looked a very capable outfit in the two previous encounters
