It's the same in every shootout. The guys who have practiced and are confident look at the ball and the goal and don't get distracted, because they're too concentrated on visualising what they've practiced and what their plan is inside their heads. The guys who are looking at the ref, looking at the heavens, looking at the ground, back and forward, back and forward, haven't a solid plan, so they're just running up and hitting it. The biggest one is the guy who turns his back on the ball after placing it on the spot, walks away then immediately turns to begin the run up. Funny how often these games end up between a serious challenger and an outsider, with the outsider winning. Third place games must be horrible for the favourites. Edit: remarkably cack-handed goalkeeping for BK's second! Edit 2: this has been pretty entertaining for a nothing game. Cameroon 3-0 down despite dominating, before finally waking up and getting back to 3-3. Edit 3: looks like all of the moths we've seen during the tournament have turned out tonight. The pitch is absolutely teeming with them when you see the close-ups. Edit 4: Cameroon remarkably happy at winning the shoot-out. Burkina Faso absolutely shit the bed after doing a remarkable job on the counter, but Cameroon were sloppy as f**k to have gone so far behind to begin with. Entertaining game, though. Unfortunately, the final's highly unlikely to be a similar experience. f**k Egypt, this'll be like Argentina winning in 1990 if they win (alright, slight exaggeration).
