Morton vs Pars

Whilst most of the focus has understandably been on us scoring 5 goals, at the other end I can't remember Hamilton making a save of note.

Thee BBC’s stats say the Pars had a grand total of three attempts that were on target, so it must’ve been one of his easiest games since he signed for us……….       and yet Hughes still claims Dunfermline were the better team yesterday…….     🤪 😂    Five-nil, John, five-nil.  Get real.

Aye that’s about as funny Hughes saying they would catch and pass the Rovers 🤣🤣

Aye the 3 saves Hamilton made were very comfortable, even if he did make a meal of one of them but at least he had his body behind it and got it away.

OFW had a number of good saves from Lithgow, Reilly, Ledger and McLean.

Pars couldn't complain if it was 6/7 although it would have probably had been the best thing that could have happened to them...

Most noticeable thing from the gopro angle of the goals is just how quiet and defeated the Dunfermline defenders and keeper are for every single goal. No one shouting at each other or raging that they're getting pumped off the bottom placed team in the league.

Enjoy OFW's wee crossbar jig for the first two goals though.

We've had that all season, heads just go down and the players look like they can't be arsed. I've noticed Dorrans especially has been bad for that, and he's the one we've brought in to talk the young boys through the game. The squad is a shambles.
Deserve everything that comes to them.

Stay or go down. We need a huge clear out. We must wake up to this obsession of developing youth and start thinking about the present day. The lack of of physicality, leadership and experience is killing us. Then add the stupid tactics in to the mix. That passing nonsense is not going to win games.

Your squad is stacked with experienced players that you have assembled at this level and you chucked more of them straight into your starting lineup yesterday.

Also that Fôn Williams is markedly off his line for no reason and that on at least two occasions that cost him the couple of inches that would would have gotten him to the ball.

The Dunfermline player who utterly shat out of the 50-50 challenge at the edge of his own box to Gary Oliver for the first goal should never play professional football again. That is beyond pathetic.

Paul Allan. We've lost a load of goals this season from the same area. Nobody in our midfield likes a tackle or help out defensively. Little 5 yard sideways passing this the limit of their footballing abilities.

I don’t think we have any midfielders that would make the challenge. I genuinely think every single one of our midfielders would bottle that. That, along with the fact our midfielders just can’t play football, is why we are where we are.

Aye sure.

Now you're really clutching at straws.

Nothing wrong with your keepers positioning, just 4 great finishes.

But still hanging round the Morton v Dunfermline thread like a bad smell. Weird bunch of people. Winning a big game, which would put you 1 point off top, but Raith fans would rather come here and talk about Dunfermline.

Translation = Stop laughing at us.

Dunfermline look pretty reminiscent of Alloa towards the end of their time in this league. Heads down, going through the motions and devoid of any form of life. Surely this must be Yogi's last gig in management?
Even the offside in the box is horrendous, nobody making any effort to press. Play to the whistle comes to mind. Once the third goes in it looks like a training game for Morton, notable for Robbie Muirhead being made to look like an in prime Maradona for his goal.

The concerning thing is Morton will have a bit of confidence about them now coming into the game at Somerset on Saturday.

Agree with this. For all we totally battered them, the keeper managed to concede three out of the five goals over his head. Shouldn't happen.

Edited to add: watched the highlights again and Fon Williams has my sympathies; he must be looking forward to playing behind the boy Donaldson every week. An utterly howling performance, the kind you don't see most decades; looked like he'd won the shirt in a raffle.
